I have been to Ohayo sushi since it first opened and have been a returning customer for the last 4 visits. Each visit has been pleasant and I consider myself a very easy customer.
Today I took my wife and 2 kids along with my brother in law and sister in law their 2 kids there for mother's day celebration as a surpise. And I want to say the server we had today ruin our mood for such a celebration.
It all started whenever she asked me what I wanted to order since I didn't want to do the all you can eat. (The option to order from the menu which is allowed). I ordered Chirashi which is $20.95 on the menu. She made a comment and ask if I wanted to just do the all you can eat instead since it's only $10 more. I told her no because I'm on a diet and I wouldn't eat more than what I ordered. Afterwards each time she came by to take my families orders and repeated stated "just a friendly reminder we can't share food at the table for non all you can eat members" as she kept looking at me. This happened not one but 4 times. This made feel really uncomfortable as a customer. Not only that, I could see her staring at me from another table as I am just eating my bowl of Chirashi.
I dont have any negative things to say about the food or the people for the most part. But as customer, I dont think I want to come back here anymore due to the judgement I'm getting from the server. If I'm not allowed to order from the menu and is expected to order all you can eat because others are ordering all you can eat. To me there's something wrong with that picture.
I hope this message is seen by the restaurant manager so they could ensure the customer feels comfortable at your restaurant. Your servers are the people that represent your restaurant. What they say and do can effect the...
Read moreOverall… servers are learning, average ambiance, but the sushi was fresh and at reasonable prices. I wasn’t sure about doing all you can eat at a place I haven’t tasted their food, so I dined a la carte.
The decorations were nice, but having sports on the tv and country music playing really threw off the vibe I was hoping for.
Plates came out slow, seemingly because they are set up for all you can eat (without wasting) rather than orders of multiple things that are brought out together.
The fish tasted fresh, but my server brought lime in my water instead of lemon… when I asked he said they were out of lemon. Bit of a language barrier is ok, but knowing what is missing from your menu is important, and knowing that lime is no substitute for lemon helps a lot.
Veggie roll: 4/5 overall I liked this roll, but wish it had seaweed.
Tuna nigiri: 5/5
Crunchy snowcrab roll: 5/5 (though I was expecting snow crab and crunchy and it had tempura shrimp added)
Side of noodles for the toddler: 3/5 (he enjoyed them but it was a mixture of two types of noodles and not presented well like everything else)
The all you can eat doesn’t offer a lot of soy paper options, which was one reason I wasn’t sure about it, but it looks like a great deal to try later if I have a big appetite. All you can eat doesn’t allow for any modifications, and I usually change things to my taste. I would really love to see an all you can eat option that has bites or...
Read moreReview of Ohayo Sushi in Prairieville I recently had the all-you-can-eat (AYCE) lunch at Ohayo Sushi, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. For less than $50 for two people, we ate an incredible amount of food, and it was all fantastic. The quality and freshness of the food were top-notch. We ordered a huge variety of items, including two orders each of the Mango Roll and Fat Tuesday Roll 8 pieces each order, along with another 5-piece roll. We also tried several pieces of nigiri (shrimp, crab, and smoked salmon), shrimp tempura, a cucumber wrap, and a bowl of clear soup. Everything was delicious and tasted incredibly fresh. Beyond the sushi, we also indulged in the tuna tataki, a tasty snow crab salad, and finished with some amazing desserts—ice cream and tempura banana. The portion sizes were very generous, especially for an all-you-can-eat option, which is a big plus. The service was also excellent, with the staff being attentive and friendly throughout our meal. We left feeling incredibly full and completely satisfied. I'm already planning my next visit and will definitely be "fasting" beforehand so I can try even more of their menu! If you're looking for great quality sushi at an unbeatable price in Prairieville, Ohayo Sushi is the...
