UPDATE: August 4, 2024
Our family returned to Ground Pat'i in Houma for lunch today to give the restaurant one more chance after a series of bad visits a few months back. I am happy to report that all concerns have been corrected, and the familiar Ground Pat'i we have enjoyed for so many years is back! My chargrilled burger was juicy and flavorful with a freshly buttered bun and hand-grated cheese. Their signature fries are back, and the onion rings were as good as ever. My parents were even excited to find a grilled pineapple slice and cherry on their "lighten up" plates. The little details really do make a difference, and I am excited to see the restaurant is paying attention. Ground Pat'i in Houma has won us back! Ground Pat'i in Houma has been my go-to burger restaurant for as long as I can remember. There was something special about their burger — flame-grilled with hand-grated thick Cheddar cheese and a pickle spear. The fries were among the best too. Best of all, the food was always consistent. Sadly, that has changed. Last night, I visited Ground Pat'i and was served a cold burger with thin shredded cheese that clearly came from a bag. The fries were different and now have pieces of potato skin attached to them. Even the pickle spear had a stronger "kosher" taste. Simply put, this isn't the same quality Ground Pat'i I have enjoyed for years. It is mind-boggling to me that restaurant managers and owners think they can change the little things about their food in an effort to cut costs without their loyal customers noticing. The little things like hand-grated cheese and quality fries are why we go to Ground Pat'i over Applebee's for a burger. Ground Pat'i is trying to play a magic trick with its food quality and ingredients, but I'm not fooled. I can get what they're serving now from any...
Read moreWORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! We ordered a curbside pickup order of 6 burgers. The curbside worker repeated back to us PERFECTLY. When we came to pick it up we were missing a burger, the ground pounder we order was missing a patty, and the jr cajun bbq burger was rang in as a regular ground patty jr. The curbside worker was so nice and as I had worked there before I understood mishaps happening sometimes. Then the manager came out and didn’t seem to listen to anything we were saying. Didn't offer a discount or anything for our trouble and didn’t seem to listen to anything we were saying. He gave us an extra burger patty for the ground pounder but the extra patty was well done and not medium well. When we got the burger that we were missing it was completely wrong. The missing burger was SUPPOSED to be a ground pati junior plain with american cheese and grilled onions. They gave us a ground pati jr that was fully dressed, no grilled onions, and no cheese when they charged us for cheese. We called to ask what happened and just to get any compensation at all and the manager started ARGUING WITH US and blaming the new workers and not taking any responsibility ??? Sir, you are IN CHARGE of this restaurant. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure everything runs smoothly and stuff like this doesn't happen! At least COMPENSATE your customers when things go horribly wrong??? Not to mention I worked there up until 3 months ago, old management would have NEVER let this slide. Take responsibility for how your restaurant...
Read moreThis Ground Pati is not the same as Gretna and Metairie. Between those 2 combined we visit 2-3 times a month. Well this one in Houma doesn't have the same standards. We thought since we got there before 5, we happened to beat the dinner crowd. Later leaving did we realize they don't have a dinner a crowd for a reason. Our host and waitress was great, she did a perfect job. However the faults here are strictly general management. Portions and quality of food were horrible. We ordered nachos like we always do at other locations and this one here was probably half the size and just bland. We had 3 burgers and all the meat was discolored. There's no way that meat was fresh, borderline say it was frozen pre-made patties. They don't know what medium temp is, all were tough and grayish. Along with portions, a kids shrimp plate literally had 4 small shrimp, but ½ pound of fries. These are all management decisions. And the last thing, NO peanuts. Can't call it a Ground Pati without the...
