Woodmere Cafe — Restaurant in Louisiana

I was in the vicinity at Woodmere Cafe' Banquet Hall.. I observed a party going on. (No security/bouncer at the door. It was needed because too many people was going back and forth to their cars.) The party goers was dressed in their best. It seemed to be the place to be. The dj was playing some great music. Than a brass band & two (#2) Zulu Tramps showed up. I've typed all of this to set the scene up for what's next to come. It sadden me to observed may be five (#5) people wearing a mask. A few of the party goers & one (#1) Zulu Tramp. It was soo many people NOT taking the proper precaution to keep themselves & others safe. Of course NO SOCIAL DISTANCING at all. I was VERY HIGHLY IMPRESSED to see that the (#1) Zulu Tramp had on his mask. KUDOS👏🏻👏🏽👏🏿 to him!!! This Corvid-19 is here & it isn't going anywhere & it is STILL serious. Just because the death rate & people being hospitalized has gone down this virus is still very much serious!!! So people because you're able to have/go to a large event please be smart & mask 😷😷😷 up!!! We've got to be smarter! Blessings🙏,...

Potato salad so good, took an extra order to go! How many times have you ever said that in your life?

Stumbled in, but definitely will be back! My husband and I were house hunting around NOLA and driving neighborhoods. We needed a place for a quick bite, but we were tired off hamburgers and other quick fare. Googled and found this place! Staff was so nice! Chatted with us. Big portions, lot of variety, and all at reasonable prices!! Music on point, too. Had the Italian cream cake. Mmm, mmm! Big ol' hunks of cake, moist, not-too-sweet frosting. Daily specials! We had smothered okra, peas, potato salad, and bell pepper stuffed with rice dressing. I added a couple pieces of fish. My husband and I ate on this one plate and still had leftovers!

I went to order Yakan and the lady told me they didn’t have any so I feel as if you don’t have something then you need to close a restaurant down or take it off the menu they said they was all sold out and would have some more tomorrow, so I just ordered the gumbo which I asked what type of gumbo it was and they said shrimp, chicken gizzards, chicken, and hot sausage so I went ahead and ordered and paid for it and when I got home which is only like a mile down the street it was ice cold it had no shrimp in it. It had chicken and it had no hot sausage, but it did have gizzards I was so dissatisfied , it tasted bland. I understand it was at the end of the day because it was about 530 and they close at seven still nonetheless I believe if you have it on the menu and this is what’s in your type of food that you order, then that should be what it is , would I recommend this restaurant...
