I'm just going to start off with how calming the atmosphere is. You walk in and you are greeted with a beautiful smile and the sweetest woman named Kelly. My husband, got the red beans and rice with sausage, chicken wings, and cornbread. Which might I add, was the best red beans and cornbread we have ever had from a restaurant. It made us feel like we were back home at Grandma's. Now, for the fried chicken, we'll hurt somebody over that fried chicken! It was crispy, juicy, seasoned, and most of all, cooked with LOVE! My daughter got the chicken tenders and fries. I'm a hard person to please when it comes to crinkle cut fries but they were cooked just the right amount. The tenders were HUGE! My daughter was happy as could be. I ordered the shrimp poboy. Just my personal preference, I like more shrimp than bread. It was the opposite so I ended up eating just the shrimp, but the bread was delicious nonetheless. Just too much for me. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and so good. First of all, the customer service was delightful not to mention the food is so good! I’ve heard about this place maybe once or twice over social media but always forgotten about them until today. Today dinner time came around and something sparked in me because nothing else around me sounded good/getting old and that’s when the lightbulb over my head lit up and remembered this place! The bayou pasta is pretty good and VERY LARGE portion! No complaints here! Definitely worth the money if you ask me. The sweet potato fries were good as well as the candied yams, but definitely the yams were my favorite. The gumbo is not the best out there (I like mines on the darker roux side) but nonetheless still pretty good! The fried shrimp on the other hand were not my cup of tea, BUT I am very picky when it comes to shrimp. Some shrimp leaves a very mechanically aftertaste in my mouth, I have no other words to describe it but other than that the breading on the fried shrimp was good. Not too thick and not too thin.
