My girlfriend and I went in and sat down a few hours before they closed on a Tuesday night. They didn’t seem to be particularly busy so we thought it would be fine as we have had good experiences in the past dining here. We were sorely mistaken. We ordered the pow wow shrimp as an appetizer over rice. This was great and we were excited for our entrees. About 20 minutes after our appetizer was sat down we were given our entrees. I ordered the chicken tenders with French fries and broccoli. I was unsure of what side to do besides the broccoli because I’m usually a big fan of their broccoli. Our server recommended the French fries. My girlfriend ordered the 6 ounce sirloin with mashed potatoes and green beans. My plate looked okay at best. The French fries were visibly old and cold. Very unappetizing but I was hopeful that the chicken tenders and broccoli would carry the plate since that’s what I was most excited for. I ate 1 French fry and decided they were not worth it. I could’ve gotten better French fries from Burger King at 3 AM. So I moved on to the broccoli. Here is where everything went very very bad. The broccoli was foul. Crunchy on the outside and cold on the inside, yet also disgusting to taste. After two small bites I was immediately feeling grossed out, disgusted, and flush. I was praying that maybe I could do a bite of chicken tender and sip water enough to feel better. Unfortunately, the food was simply so gross I had to excuse myself to the restroom to throw up. After 15 minutes of throwing up from the food, I returned to my seat as I was feeling that I might pass out. Completely embarrassed and flustered, I informed our server of what happened and how disgusting the food was to make me feel this immediately sick. I truly don’t know if I’ve ever eaten anything more foul tasting in my life than that broccoli.
Now comes the response from Aspen Creek’s staff. After I informed our server of what happened, she took the broccoli away and disappeared. Nothing else was said for about 5 minutes until the manager came to our table. She asked what happened. I explained the entire situation and that I felt extremely sick now. I couldn’t even look at food after this and all the manager offered was to get me something else. When I said that I couldn’t even think about eating anything else the manager walked away. I felt very offended at how we were being treated as it felt like we were being ushered out of the restaurant as fast as possible. Our server returned with a box for my girlfriend, whose food was unremarkable one way or the other besides it her sirloin being fairly overcooked. The server came back with the check. All that was taken off was the broccoli. I was feeling incredibly unwell but knew I had to drive home so my girlfriend paid the bill and we walked outside before I passed out. We both discussed it and just wanted out of there as we were clearly being given a serious cold shoulder. We felt incredibly disrespected and not taken seriously at how terrible the food was, not to mention how little it felt like the staff at Aspen Creek cared about the effect their food had on their customers.
I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant in my life.
Once I was safely home and able to regain my strength enough, I called Aspen Creek and asked to speak to the management about how poorly we were treated. To my surprise, the manager that came to our table was who I was immediately put through. After thoroughly explaining how upset we were, she offered to send us some coupons in the mail, saying that was all she could do now. So I said fine, I’ll take your coupons and maybe if they were good coupons I wouldn’t write this review.
Well since you are reading this review, clearly I never received any coupons despite this happening two weeks ago. I was told I would receive the coupons in the mail on that Thursday or so, keeping in mind I went there on Tuesday.
I have never in my life had such a complete and utterly...
Read moreFood great , staff friendly, prices fare. I was born on the Gulf Coast so I'm a Big Fan of fried shrimp and I rate the Fried Shrimp at Aspen Creek the Best I've had in Louisville area. They have it as a meal or as an appetizer. As an appetizer they call it Pow Wow Shrimp and they have come up with a unique spicy sauce (Pow Wow). If you don't ask for them to put the sauce on the side then it's going to be poured all over the shrimp which evidently some people must like. But Not me. Why go to all the trouble to make fried shrimp's breading golden brown and crispy only to pour a sauce all over it and make it soggy. Tonight I got a combo....fried shrimp and 1/2 rack of BQ Ribs that were well off the board delicious. Good service , prices reasonable plus 10% off for showing my VA card. We called ahead to get on a wait list and instead were told to go to Yep app. and find Aspen Creek location and get on wait list in app and we waited in our car until we got a text alert it was our turn. There were lots of people wearing mask waiting inside and out but with Bullet County in the Red we felt better waiting in our car. Oh yes , my wife had their new 6oz sirloin steak , slaw and baked potato...all cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. (Before their smallest sirloin was an 8oz) Yes we recommend Aspen Creek and will be going back plus more often do curbside pickup which the do a good job of though you might want to make sure everything is there , we have had things missing more then once and even though we were compensated with just a phone call in can still be a let down if you don't discover it till...
Read moreOn 2/26 my husband placed an online order for curbside pick up. When I went to pick it up I was told I needed to pay first even though I was sure my husband did so online. I was asked to wait while the person checked. The girl came out and said she figured out the problem, a tip hadn't been left and presented me the credit card receipt with a pen and something to write on obviously, expecting a tip right then. She stood close enough to my car window to see what was being written. I was so taken back that I scribbled an amount, signed and left. As I thought about it and how uncomfortable it made me feel, I decided to call to speak to the manager. I tried calling a couple times but either the place was closed or no one answered. I was interested in knowing if it is standard policy to expect a tip for pickup. However, even if it is, I would be very surprised that it is acceptable to actually ask for one and I wanted someone to know how this made me feel as a customer. I apologize for doing this through a review and not giving the manager the opportunity to discuss via the phone, but unfortunately my schedule and the restaurant hours just didn't work.
