This is an Outback Steakhouse, I don't expect fine dining and impeccable service. However, this location has gone downhill significantly since restaurants re-opened for dine in service back in December. Every visit here has been worse than the previous visit.
-The call-ahead wait time policy is inconsistent and infuriating: sometimes calling ahead gets you a table in the time they say it will. Sometimes, you show up and find out that the wait time is 20-30 minutes longer than they told you over the phone. Interesting.
-Do you like having half your beer left over after dinner? Great! You'll get your drink right before the food arrives. Enjoy sipping on a glass of nothing for 20 minutes after you're seated. Ask about your beer's location and be told by the server that "I don't know who hired these bartenders." Perhaps the same person who hired you, because you were terrible.
-The service I've received here has gotten worse with every visit. The most recent time, our waitress arrived huffing and puffing talking about how busy she was. I don't how she was so out of breath, but it certainly wasn't from getting to our table quickly.
-I know I'm in the minority here, but I prefer a steak cooked well all the way through. Sue me. When I asked for well done, I definitely didn't expect to get a red center with red juices on my plate. I didn't bother sending it back, because I'm not sure if I would have even been given a steak; perhaps my order would have been screwed up ever more.
I'm not angry as much as I am disappointed. I live in Mount Washington and they're aren't many good restaurants out our way. We don't have many options close to us. We now have one fewer. Won't be back.
Updated Edit: And instead of an actual response to a written negative review like this, there's an automated bot that calls you "mate" and asks you to go to their website and contact them there. No thanks, I'd much rather post a public google review than to go to your website and jump...
Read moreOn the 20th, my husband and I, after dropping our son off down the street, for a kid-free night, on my birthday around 5 pm. It wasn't really that busy, considering it was a Saturday. We got sat immediately, we were placed in a corner booth near the bar, we got our drinks, and we ordered an appetizer. 1st, our server sat our drinks down, then not a minute later, we had another server sit another set of our drinks, both us and her confused, as we had only moved our drinks not even taken a sip of the 1st ones our waitress had given us. After our appetizer arrived, our waitress disappeared for approximately 45 minutes. I looked at my watch it was 6:36 and still had not ordered. FINALLY when our waitress did come by to "check" in on us. I was in a very annoyed mood, I simply told her we haven't even ordered yet. She seemed very indifferent to my upset comment and proceeded to take our order. The only one who actually seemed to care that dealt with us was the 2nd server and the guy who brought out our food. The waitress also knew it was my birthday. I have never had such horrible service or a worse birthday. I had no compensation done. And we were finished just before 8, my husband had planned a whole night of activities and this ended up running into them and it really dampened my mood for the rest of the night. We went down the street to Walmart by the time we got there it was 7:55. There is no reason we should've been there seated immediately, for almost 3 hours. The food tasted good. The Piña Koala was stronger than I expected. But I would like something done. I honestly wish I told my husband to get up and walk out within the first 15 minutes of us getting forgotten. This was not simply a case of her helping out but a case of us getting the corner booth and...
Read moreTERRIBLE! My kids paid our bill of $126 for 4 of us. I had no problem with the cost, IF the food is worth the cost. Yes. It was Mother's day. We waited 1 hr for our food. Again, its Mothers day - understandable. 1st, our ceasers salad was served. We had to sit and pick out the brown lettuce that they used to make the salad with. The salad was dry. We were debating if the salad even had dressing on it or not. We couldn't see or taste it on any of them. Then our blooming onion was served. It was over done and the onions had no flavor. Finally! What we had been waiting for, patiently! Our entrees! I got the 6 oz sirloin supposed to be medium rare. It was well. SO TUFF, I couldn't chew it up. My daughter-in-laws was exactly the same. My husband ordered a chopped steak. It was SO over cooked, it had no juices in it and was hard as a rock. I ordered a loaded baked potatoe. The one on the menu showed seasonings on the outside peeling, and loaded with bacon, green onions, and sour cream. Well! Yes! You guessed. My poor potato didn't even resemble the picture on the menu. No seasoning on the potatoe's peel. Couldn't find the cheese - much less the bacon. There WAS about 1/4 teaspn of sour cream on it. No butter.
We had a wonderful visit with the kids. Unfortunately, the meal at Outback contributed NOTHING towards the fun we had entertaining each other.
One thing for sure. I will NEVER request a great steak from this place EVER again. I just felt terrible whn my son had to pay our $126.00 tab for such low...
