A Culinary Symphony at Misawa Hibachi & Sushi Bar – A Must-Visit Japanese Gem!
This afternoon, our party of 14 dined at Misawa Hibachi & Sushi Bar, and from start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.
The service was fantastic — multiple servers worked together with remarkable coordination, ensuring our large group was constantly cared for. Waters were refilled, questions were answered, and plates came out smoothly. Their attentiveness was professional, friendly, and a big part of what made the afternoon flow so well.
We began with an array of appetizers that instantly set the tone. The California rolls were clean, crisp, and beautifully executed — the seaweed had the perfect bite, the rice was seasoned just right, and the ingredients were refreshingly simple and fresh. But perhaps the toughest challenge of the meal came when the three trays of California rolls hit the table — the adults had to move quickly to prevent the children from gobbling them all up before everyone had a chance. It was a true testament to how good they were!
The fried calamari came out golden and beautifully seasoned — the breading had a savory depth without overpowering the tender texture of the calamari. Light, flavorful, and cooked to a palatable, pleasant chew — not rubbery, not greasy — just right.
The third starter, the tempura vegetable and shrimp platter, was just as impressive in its own way. The shrimp were large, juicy, and perfectly enveloped in a crisp, airy batter that gave each bite a satisfying crunch. The vegetables were lightly fried to maintain their natural texture and flavor, with the tempura coating adding just the right touch of golden crispness. This dish delivered a balance of lightness and depth that made it a hit around the table.
For my main dish, I had the Yakisoba with chicken — stir-fried noodles with vegetables in a sauce that was the perfect marriage of sweet and salty with a gentle kiss of spice. The chicken was tender and well-marinated, the noodles had great texture, and the dish was easy to manage and thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.
My wife ordered the Miso-Tonkotsu Ramen, and it was absolutely stunning. The miso base, enriched by pork broth, was deep, hearty, and full of comforting umami. The homemade chashu pork was delicate and savory, the soft-boiled egg was silky, and the enoki mushrooms and wakame added earthiness and texture. We were told this was a special house recipe from the owner himself — and it tasted like something crafted with pride and tradition.
One of my sons ordered the filet mignon, and it was clear he made the right choice — he devoured the entire plate with quickness and a huge smile on his face. The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly to his liking. It was served with both a warm, comforting soup and a fresh, well-prepared salad — a full-course experience that elevated the meal and left him more than satisfied. Watching his reaction alone was worth the visit.
Others in our group sampled a variety of sushi rolls, all of which were artfully plated and freshly prepared — from spicy tuna to salmon avocado, every bite reflected quality ingredients and skillful hands.
And then came dessert: cheesecake tempura — a glorious final act. Imagine warm, golden-fried crust with a cool, creamy cheesecake center that melted in your mouth. It was a delightful contrast of temperature and texture, and it disappeared from the table in minutes.
And one last note — something most reviews skip over but deserves praise: the water. It tasted clean and pure, with no trace of chemicals or chlorine. It’s a small detail, but it matters — and it’s another sign that this restaurant does things the right way, from top to bottom.
Misawa Hibachi & Sushi Bar is a place where flavor, presentation, service, and hospitality come together in harmony. Whether you're coming with a crowd or for a quiet dinner, this is a culinary experience you won’t want to miss.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Incredible food. Impeccable service. 100%...
Read moreFacility Misawa was fairly clean, but could have used a bit more attention under table and around the fixtures/decorations. These minor things make a difference in the perceived value.
Staff Very friendly, and prompt. We were greeted and sat quickly, however we were not here during a busy time. Our server was able to answer questions we had about the food, and was very pleasant.
Food My wife had the Salmon Poke bowl. She stated it was very good, and better than others she ordered at other similar restaurants. The one downside to her order, and why a star was dropped, is somehow quite a bit of wasabi made it into her dish. Unaware of this, she managed to get a bite or two containing the paste, and was not very pleased. She thought it was onion until she offered me a taste, and I instantly knew what it was. If the wasabi was supposed to be in the Salmon Poke bowl, please update the menu to reflect this. I had the Sashimi Combination. This is one of the better combination I have had for the price. Some of the rice was a bit over cooked, but not to the point of being mushy. Tuna roll is a bit smaller than I had thought it was going to be, but it did not impact the flavor at all.
Overall Misawa Hibachi & Sushin Bar has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Service is quick, and courteous. Food presentation was lovely, and other than the wasabi encounter there was nothing to complain about. Suggestion to pay a bit more attention to the finer details in cleaning. If you are thinking about visiting, please do so, it...
Read moreThere are a lot to choose from the menu and being that we love Japanese food we wanted to try as much as we can from the variety that they had.
I got tuna and salmon sashimi, salmon roll and veggie tempura. The sashimi was good. I could taste the buttery flavor of the salmon and the firmness of the tuna. The slices were thicker than usual which I liked. The salmon roll was good, not too much rice. I loved the veggie tempura. The crunchy batter was just right and not oily at all.
My son got the miso tonkatsu ramen. The serving is big and may be enough to be shared by 2 people. The noodles was firm and the soup was tasty and not salty at all.
We also got the Volcano and Cardinal rolls. These were plated differently than I am used to and that is good and creative in my opinion. The servings were big portions . The toppings were tasty. Only thing is that you should finish it right away as the topping may get the sushi a little soggy if you let it sit for awhile (which did not happen to us since we finished it a few minutes after it was served)
The price of the food is also very reasonable. The place is clean, not too big yet very cozy and the staff are very nice. We came on a weekday a little after the lunch hour rush so we got seated as soon as we got there but I heard that the place can get very busy at times.
I highly recommend this place and would love to come back when we are in...
