From a Pavilion (Sala) to Home (Bahn). "It'll be at least a 45-minute wait" said the hostess at a nearby steakhouse from the Down Unda. "Oh look, the dining room at the Thai restaurant is open now." Knew nothing about Bahn Thai (Formerly Sala Thai), no expectation was set as it has been mostly misses than hit for Thai restaurant exploration. It was cold that evening, two soups kicked off the experience. Tom Jued Woon Sen Gai- clear, savory broth with clear mungbean noodle is certain to thaw your soul. Tom Yam Gai- clear (sometimes reddish) savory and sour broth with a spicy kick and hint of lemongrass/citrus to surely set your senses run wild. Pla Pad Khing- Gingerly overloaded with crispy fried fish bedding under assortment of veggies, covered with deep flavored sauce. Gaeng Panang Nuea- Beefy Curry Creamy Tasty. No other curry dishes at other Thai restaurants so far is this flavorful. The correct cut of beef was used and sliced properly. Bahn Thai (formerly Sala Thai) prepares the most AUTHENTIC Thai dishes in Greater Louisville, so far. The dishes are rich in flavor and character. Superb service. Though the ownership and the name have changed, the same family still runs the show. Skip Pad Thai and Basil Chicken (and no doubt they're delicious here), but try different dish at every visit. Highly Recommended.

Just had the sampler and it was amazing. I loved that they give you 3 different sauces, all amazing, especially the brown one for your chicken. I will be back soon to try more stuff. 2nd visit: Well I finally came back and tried the drunken noodles with beef and the cashew chicken, and let me tell you they were both absolutely amazing. I loved all the vegetables in the cashew chicken, and the sauce for both meals tasted fantastic. It looks like they are allowing dining in again, almost every table was taken.

This was my first experience with Thai food, and I had a social media coupon for this restaurant. When I arrived at True Thai, all the lights in the dining area were turned off. It was a little creepy. I was the only customer. The lady who took my order was not overly friendly, but I wouldn't label her as "rude", either. I found out when I got there that they don't take credit cards for orders under $10. I wish that info was posted on their facebook page or other websites, because I had to order more food and two overpriced bottles of soda in order to meet that criteria (my coupon was for $16 worth of food.) I then sat in the dark and waited a little less than 15 minutes for my carry-out order. Some of the food my family and I tried was great. The satay was fabulous, as was the cucumber sauce that came with it. It was amazing! We also ordered some spring rolls, which were great (but very small). The cashew chicken was tasty, but the ginger chicken was very spicy. I can't tolerate a lot of spice, so I was unable to eat most of my meal. I'm a fan of ginger chicken and I've never tasted a dish so hot. Also, I paid for crab rangoon (since I had to spend more money so I could use my credit card) and I never received it. That really bothered me, because I would have had more to eat if I'd received all of my order. As it was, my portion of the satay, the thumb-sized spring roll and what I could eat of the ginger chicken wasn't really enough for a meal. If you're a fan of Thai food and all the cuisine it includes, I suppose I could recommend this place. Some of what we ate was quite good. However, if I were to go back, I'd double check my order to ensure I received everything I paid for, I'd stick to appetizers for my actual meal, and I'd bring cash! I'd also hope the lights would be on, as my experience here was...

Nestled in the heart of Fern Creek, this Thai restaurant has become a cherished spot for my family. Its proximity to our home makes it a convenient culinary escape, offering a taste of Thailand right in our backyard.

My wife, son, and I are aficionados of Asian cuisines, and this place has consistently impressed us with its authentic and diverse Thai offerings. We've embarked on a gastronomic adventure through their menu, from the rich and aromatic seafood soups to the perfectly balanced curries. Each dish is a testament to the chef’s expertise in blending traditional flavors with a touch of modern flair.

What strikes me most is the consistent quality of their food. Whether it’s the subtle spice of their soups or the robust depth of one of their curries, every meal has been a delightful experience. Their attention to detail, from the selection of fresh ingredients to the presentation of the dishes, elevates the dining experience.

This Thai restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s a journey through the flavors of Thailand, lovingly prepared and served with a warm smile. For anyone in Fern Creek or the surrounding areas, it’s a culinary destination that shouldn’t be missed. Highly recommended for a family dinner or a casual outing. It’s a five-star experience that keeps us coming...
