Book & Bourbon should consider how its actions affect travelers. Posted hours of operation say closing is 11:00 p.m. on Saturday evenings. When we arrived, at 6:00 p.m., the bartender said she could not serve us because they had been closed for 30 minutes. Closed at 5:30 on a Saturday night, with plenty of departing and arriving flights in the evening?? She said, with an attitude, “since covid, things have changed.” Covid doesn’t prevent hours of operation from being updated.
Please consider ramifications of delayed flights, like ours, when travelers depend on accurate hours of operations. We checked our bags and returned our rental car. We were stranded with limited food options— we researched hours of operation thinking Book & Bourbon would be open until 11:00 p.m. Luckily, we were able to sit down at Chili’s beyond security; its kitchen closed at 7:00 p.m. (ugh!), but I digress.
Also, if travelers arrive early for a flight and cannot yet check their bags, Book & Bourbon is their only option.
We’ve been to Book & Bourbon before, when it was actually open, and the customer service has always been less than ideal, which is a shame because it is a cute restaurant with...
Read moreInteresting story here... So today I walk in this place and ask for cup of water (like I do from time to time). The manager sternly confronts me and tells me I need to "bring my own cup from now on" because I'm "using up" their plastic cups 😆. Are you kidding? That is just ridiculous. It's definitely not me that's using up their plastic cups. It's the ppl that go in there and drink their faces off. I was a little shellshocked when this happened. I've been good to those ppl. I speak when I see them, I've spent a huge stack of cash in there, I always make sure to tip (even tho I myself work for tips), and I clean up my mess when I'm done. I order all my meals to-go anyway; so the only real 'service' they would be providing me is when I stop in and ask for water. When I go Chili's and ask for water, which I do very often: "Sure sir. No problem". When I go to Coal's and ask for water, which I do very often: "Sure sir. No problem". But apparently it's become a problem at B&B; so since the $5-15 a day I spend in there isn't enough to cover the cost of their plastic cups, I'll be sure to never go back...
Read moreOverall: For an airport restaurant, B&B impresses and is well above the normal fare you may find.
The good: The salad that I got was huge, filling, and had a nice variety of tastes. Apples, chicken, cornbread croutons...it was all good. Paired with the honey cornbread appetizer, and I left ready to nap on the plane. The menu was large enough where everyone will be happy as well.
The not-so-good: The service was fine, but nothing extraordinary. Our waitress oddly asked us to rate the place the best in the airport before we even got our appetizer, which was strange. Additionally, the booths weren't that comfortable and my party definitely felt cramped.
Atmosphere: 8/10 Service:...
