Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in Louisville

First impressions are everything! When I walked in, no one said hello or welcome in. Many employees had hair hanging down with no ponytails or hair nets and the owner or manager has super long hair and was behind the prep counter. When I walked in, I overheard her say something like ‘well, to be fair, Stephanie isn’t responsible for everything’ and we made eye contact, I gave her a grin and she gave nothing back. Then she came out front with a binder opened and said ‘ who do I have to talk to?’ I’m assuming she was doing an interview with the lady she sat in a booth with. She definitely didn’t display the cheerful smile she has in all her Chicken Salad Chick Facebook photos.

The girl at the register Sadie, was so sweet but really looked like she was holding back tears, and you could feel so much tension in the place, and there was a lady with shoulder length blonde hair that revealed a very kind and welcoming smile. Sadie was very prompt and efficient in taking and packaging my order. I was in and out in 5 minutes!

The food was decent. I really enjoyed the broccoli salad! The pasta salad was mushy and had too much dressing for my preference. The white bread was soft and fresh! The portion of chicken salad to bread is a little off in my opinion, and the Dixie chicken salad is quite bland. To be fair, I am spoiled with my step mom’s chicken salad which has celery, relish and onions cut up into it and this chicken salad was very basic chicken, Mayo and a tad of onion. I will say, it’s nice to have a fresh, healthier option of take out in the area! I would eat it again for that reason and definitely for more broccoli salad!! That stuff is YUM! Standing in line with two tubs of chicken salad, ready to pay, one person in front, ready to order and an elderly woman at the cash register with two employees at her attention, talking about A-to-Z with another employee watching from the back.Stood line for at least 6 minutes without anyone even acknowledging next in line, even though I was standing there with cash in hand, ready to walk out the door, so I politely put the product back and walked out. It would’ve been different if they would have been busy doing something but standing there, laughing talking about the weather…, etc., looking up seeing us in line,.This is no more than bad customer service, the elderly woman...

I have been so excited to go here and try the food, and I finally got a chance to go. I got the Sassy Scotty chicken salad on a croissant, a scoop of pimento cheese, and the grape salad. The chicken salad was absolutely delicious! The pimento cheese was wonderful, with the tiniest sweetness to it, which I think was complimentary. And the grape salad, which I saved for last as a little dessert, was phenomenal. The cream cheese dressing/icing was amazing, the grapes were huge, and the garnish of brown sugar and crumbled pecans was just the cherry on top.
