Overall, the food is great like other locations, but sometimes the food definitely lacks the freshness that youâll get at a different chipotle. That is, if what youâre planning on ordering is even available at all. They seem to constantly be running low on a variety of things. Weâve ordered delivery from this location 3-5 times through the chipotle app. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that there was an issue with every single delivery order that we placed. We were always missing something. Every time we ordered delivery, they forgot at least 1, if not multiple side salsas, and donât get me started on the chips to dip in said salsas. They may as well be giving out tiny zip lock bags of chips, theyâre wasting the normal bags that they use. There were a few times that we received no chips at all, but the times when we did get lucky enough to receive our chip order, the bag of chips was barely 1/4 filled for a âlargeâ bag of chips. There was more air in the bag than chips.
With all the delivery issues that weâve had, we decided to try takeout this time. I figured that if we are standing in front of someone while waiting on our food to be made, they wouldnât skimp us like they do when we order delivery. I was wrong. My wife and I had to ask for more than a half scoop of rice and cheese on our bowls. Also, every little request was an issue for the line worker. Instead of getting salsas on the bowl since we were taking the food home, we asked for a few on the side so our food wouldnât get soggy. It was clear that the employee we were dealing with was annoyed by every request that we made. A side eye here, a sigh there, and a sassy, rude attitude definitely confirmed that. On top of that, she tried to charge us for every side salsa that wouldâve been free otherwise if it was added onto the bowl. This became a brief back and forth argument that we shouldnât be charged for that, and have never been charged for that, until the manager came up and confirmed what we were saying and the employee backed off, begrudgingly. Iâm quite sure that on top of how expensive our entrees were, she was going to try and charge us a solid $1.50 - $2.00 per salsa. I am also not a fan of the attitude. If youâre that miserable, work elsewhere. This all may seem like Iâm nitpicking, but when I plan to spend $30 for 1 entree, a drink and chips and queso, I would like to be respected and receive the reasonable things Iâm asking for, without the rude attitude. It is utterly ridiculous. We left with such a sour attitude that we will likely go out of the way to the Hurstbourne Chipotle so we donât have to deal with this one anymore. What a shame, this restaurant is in a great, busy location. However, with the way they treat customers and us paying $30+ for missing items and food that isnât fresh all the time, and a quarter bag of chips, I wouldnât be surprised if this location doesnât last very long. Judging by previous reviews, it doesnât look like Iâm the only one...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting, food, cleanliness and service. This was my first time ever eating at a Chipotle restaurant an I will never eat at one again. The restaurant was messy in the area where the food is prepared, drinks area and the floors. The meats, rice and beans were old and dry looking. Several of the items they were out of. We ordered a bowl with chicken. There was a small scoop of dry small chicken pieces that was so spicy it could hardly be eaten. Rice and beans were added, again dried out an a very small portion. When I questioned about purchasing queso on the side she said âI can just put some on there for youâ. I ended up being charged $1.60 for maybe a tablespoon of queso. Next we ordered a burrito with steak, she again said itâs no problem to put the queso on there an I was charged $1.60. We added a large queso and chips & didnât even get a 1/3 of bag of chips for $8.20. We also ordered a cup of guacamole which was pretty much just a chunk of avocado with something added on top an another 1/3 bag of chips. That was an additional $4.60. Finally we added 2 drinks on for a total of $44.57. As I went to pay with cash they informed me they couldnât take it because they werenât able to give change. Luckily I had brought my debit card with me. They did accept $40 in cash and the remainder was put on my card. The cashier looked completely bored, had no personality and was short with most customers. This location has not been open long, with the horrible food and service I donât expect it to be open long without significant...

They clearly are under new ownership or management and the changes are not for the better. Sucks... because we truly enjoyed supporting a new and close-by restaurant where the staff was always super friendly, the food was always predictably delish and the portions were huge. Should've assumed it wasn't going to last long.
THIS WAS MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: I don't understand the negative reviews. My husband and I have TERRIBLE luck with fast food restaurants in the Fern Creek area but this place is flawless every single time!! We've been many times and we went again last night and I said, "If it's perfect again, I'm leaving a 5 star review" and I just knew something was going to be wrong but nope...flawless again!!! We've done mobile orders every time and every time, they've gotten our order perfectly correct and I just cannot say that about any other place in Fern Creek. The other thing we really love about this location is that the employees are all so friendly and accommodating! We will continue going until we have an experience like some of the others I've read about on here but hopefully that does not happen because we're really loving them being so close, convenient and perfect! Just goes to show...if the owners of Popeye's across the street really wanted to hire good people, they could...they obviously just don't care. Chipotle Fern...
