Dairy Del — Restaurant in Louisville

Tonight is not the first time I've gone to Dairy Del and look forward to their opening for the year. But I hate to say, but the quality has gone down the last couple years, and tonight was a deal breaker for me because I won't give them anymore chances. I ordered a heath flurry and the ratio of ice cream/ heath was horrible and not mixed well at all. I also ordered a banana split, there was very little ice cream (more like a mini scoop, not exaggerating at all). There was also so little chocolate, caramel & pineapple syrup you couldn't see it. I would have not accepted it but to be honest, I was really really shocked! I looked at it as my bf drove away, trying to process what I was seeing (or NOT seeing). I wish I had not accepted it & asked for a refund or to have it made correctly. But I will NEVER go back. I really don't see the hype. I honestly believe it's because there's only 1 other establishment that serves soft serve (Dairy Kastle on Eastern Pkwy) and I will bypass this one and go there from now on. I spent $16 (including tip, which was pd before rec'ing my order), but I would have rathered set my $16 on fire then give it to them! Trust me, the quality has diminished, probably because of the staff that doesn't bother putting out a quality product. I could have gotten a better product for far less money at...

I have always liked this place but after today's experience I will not be returning. The food is wonderful but I'm not on customer service. I ordered two waffle bowls with vanilla ice cream & strawberries, one with sprinkles & whip cream and the other with nuts for my 8yr. old and her cousin. I was given the wrong item on the bowl with nuts. I was given strawberry ice cream plain in a waffle bowl when I showed the receipt the or was keyed in incorrectly.

They finally got it correct after the 3rd try and we're sitting letting the children engoythe employee yells out the window very sarcastically in front of a dozen customers, "next time so that you know you ordered a strawberry ice cream bowl we wasted a lot of ice cream". I know what I ordered the cashier keyed in the wrong order. Even the gentleman next to me said she could have handled it better. It was embarrassing and my daughter apologized to me for asking for ice cream. After sitting there for 5 min. we left. I know this one customer doesn't matter to you but I will never return. I myself once worked in customer service years would have handled the situation...

I don’t agree with the bad reviews, I liked dairy del! I think it’s one of those places where you have to know the right thing to order though, based off negative reviewers stating the ice cream scoops are not great here. I’d suggest the flurries, or milkshakes! Good bang for your buck, and decent quality. I may be biased though, because I’m a vegan and they actually have multiple options for me. Now, albeit, this place is definitely in a worse off area vs dairy kastle. I got my food and then thought I’d eat at Shelby park, big mistake lol heard gunshots, drove off instantly. Still ate my ice cream though! This place is nice, I’ll update star review once I try dairy kastle if it’s truly inferior like everyone says.
