The Dairy Queen in Louisville, Ohio, isn't just an ice cream shop; it's a seasonal landmark. As soon as the iconic red and white awning opens for the year, it feels like summer has officially arrived. This classic walk-up spot thrives on a simple but perfect formula: high-quality soft-serve and a welcoming, community atmosphere. This DQ is dedicated to the treats that made the brand famous. The soft-serve cones are a testament to perfection, each one featuring that signature, flawless curl on top. But the star of the show is undeniably the Blizzard. They are consistently thick and rich, packed with a generous amount of mix-ins and served with that famous upside-down flip that proves its density. From the classic Oreo to the Butterfinger and seasonal flavors, every spoonful is a delight. Beyond the treats, the experience is what keeps people coming back. The staff, often local high school students, are quick and friendly, working through long lines with impressive efficiency. The outdoor seating provides the perfect spot to enjoy your frozen dessert while watching kids on bikes and families gathering after a local game. It’s a place where memories are made—a reliable stop for a cool treat on a hot day. This Dairy Queen is a true slice of Americana, and it remains a cherished institution for the...
Read moreI used to be a former employee at this franchise. I was a day-shift and part time employee there for 6 months. If you’re thinking about applying for a day shift position here, be aware that you will be on-call for 2-3 days of the week while being scheduled maybe 2-4 days per week. The day-shift manager will have favorites and micro-manages people. If you’re not a favorite, expect to be yelled at and blamed for everything that goes wrong even if you didn’t do it. Expect to be confused because the daily rules are constantly being switched. Expect to finish your daily tasks for your station and pick up other coworkers’ tasks as well. Also expect to be yelled at if you do or don’t do other coworkers’ tasks. I was trained in everything after being there for one month but never got a pay raise for my hard work but I found out that her favorites were getting raises after being trained in everything. So expect poor hours, poor day shift management, poor pay ,and poor treatment. The only good thing about working there was the nice owners, the nice night shift managers, and the mostly...
Read moreUsually its been a decent place to eat but today I went through the drive thru.....I order the $5 buck lunch consisting of the Cheeseburger Deluxe, fries, Coke and a Caramel Sundae.....I ordered it with no cheese and extra mayo... I pulled up to the window and the girl hands me my Coke literally dripping because it spilled over, I couldn't even bring it into my vehicle without wiping it down first, I couldn't believe she would even hand it to me that way. So after I got all the sticky wet mess off my hands I open the bag and get out my food and I got a plain burger with mayo, where was the Deluxe?? no lettuce, tomato or onion? I just didn't want cheese on it. The fries tasted stale, like they were cooked in very old oil with fish, the Coke hard to believe but it tasted like carbonated water, no Coke taste at all...The Sundae was good....They appear to have put a lot of money into the very old bldg. maybe some money would have been better spent on training, food preparation and...
