I can't say that I've ever eaten any bad but pho. And that includes the stuff I've made myself. I went to the restaurant more than a week ago, and much to my dismay, discovered that they were out of town on vacation. That meant I had to wait to eat at that restaurant. Well, it was definitely worth the wait.
Today, I called the restaurant beforehand to see if they were open. They were. And then I asked if they had Wi-Fi. They did. When I arrived, I discovered an intimate atmosphere - several tables in a small room, but it was definitely not cramped or uncomfortable. My server was quick and attentive, but did not hover over me. I ordered the combination pho, then ask for the Wi-Fi password, which she offered happily. I started working on my laptop while I waited, but I did not need to wait long. Shortly after I ordered she placed a plate filled with bean sprouts, leaf basil, sliced jalapeno, and lime on my table. About 10 to 15 minutes later, she presented me with a very large bowl of the soup.
For me, pho is kind of comfort food, especially after a stressful week. So this bowl of pho was especially comforting. I added some of the fixings from the plate into the bowl of meats, noodles, and Rich beefy Umami broth, and tucked in. Like I said, I've never had any bad pho, but I must say that this soup was especially delicious. The broth was rich and beefy, and held a combination of different cuts of beef; I have to check the menu to remember them all, but I will say that every mouthful of this soup felt like a warm hug. Like I said, this last week was particularly stressful. The soup was what I needed for my soul.
I remained seated at the table for another 30 to 45 minutes after I had finished the bowl of pho while I worked and sipped on my glass of Diet Coke, listening to the musical strains of Adele and other soft pop music that filled the atmosphere. I paid my check, closed up my laptop, gathered my belongings and headed for the door. I thanked my server, and let her know that I would be returning, which I most definitely will.
I suggest to everyone reading this that you pay this place a visit. I know this review was rather lengthy, so thank you so much for reading it. They have a few other items on their menu, which I plan on trying once I get back there. Perhaps you'll make it a point to try some of them when you...
Read moreI am Vietnamese, immigrated in Canada, living in the US right now and I am only the visitor in Louisville. For the very first time, I found a place selling authentic Vietnamese food like this. It’s not too much at all to say this is the best Vietnamese restaurant in North America. For many reasons:
The flavor is exactly the right one. The food here are so good. Very authentic.👍👍👍 I like the menu here. They don’t have lots of options for you to choose, only a few but I believe that’s how it should be. I used to wonder and don’t understand why other Vietnamese restaurants have so many things on their menus. If anyone knows well about Vietnamese foods, they will know that the ways to prepare different broths for different soups are different. Plus to have a good broth, it takes so much time to prepare too. Therefore, if you sells to many different kinds of Vietnamese soups and noodles on the menu, I am doubt about the quality of your broth. Here at this restaurant, they only have 2 options for Pho and Hu Tiu. Therefore just by looking at the menu, I know it must be so good and it’s true. I had Hu Tiu today. OH my goodness, it’s just sooooo good. Unfortunately I forgot to take its photo. My daughter had Banh My and she took this photo. It tasted so good too.🥰 Nice place. The restaurant’s decorations are very nice. Another plus point for nice food presentation too. 👍 Price: aha, very cheap. At least I just compare it with other Vietnamese restaurants in Louisville here. 👌 Outstanding service. They are very attentive and friendly 🤩
I rarely give any comments or reviews here but this place is so good that I want everyone who plans to visit Louisville know about this place. And I hope this review will be...
Read moreI’m not someone to leave a bad review on anyones restaurant. We came already have something in mind of what we want. Just because we got there an hour before they close. We walked in all she said was to seat ourselves and so we did. She gave us the menus and walked away. 5 minutes later she came back to give us water and left to the back. At this point I was just waiting for her to come and take our drinks and order. Mind you there were only one other table that she needed to serve the other was done eating about to leave. Me as a server I know closing time can be frustrating, because you have to clean up to close and take care of customers.( I serve for 4+ years and still serving now) I was not mad. Until a family came in that is a regular. She went over there to talk to them for a few mins and took their order. She went to put in their order and still won’t come to take ours at this point we’ve been sitting there for 15 mins. The family was waiting on two other people. The other two comes in 10 mins later she went to take there order and later on came out with their appetizers. My husband was furious and wanted to leave, but I said let’s give her a few mins. The thing is she just stand there and talk to them. I had enough and left we got there at 8:48 and we left at 9:20 ish. UNBELIEVABLE WAITED FOR over 30 MINUTS. Totally ignored. Will...
