Super disappointing experience. Came in with a group of 5 for the cocktail bar. Then had 2 or 3 added a little later. If you aren’t a “couple” then don’t bother coming in. Manager made it clear we can’t be split up for next tables over and had a horrible and unwelcoming attitude. Let me be clear, there wasnt another party in line or reservation made for a table we would have interfered with. Manager or owner made the whole experience embarrassing, uncomfortable, and unwelcoming for us, we took care of the check and left with our party. Rest of the staff, are hard working, charming, and friendly. Due to this, my friends and I will not be returning.

**EDITED /RESPONSE; Owner’s lack of ability to receive valid criticim of his “world class atmosphere” (which is a stretch) and to take accountability of his rude and unwelcoming attitude from several customers is all you need to know about the owner. The bar was not close to capacity at the time. As these were people we knew who wanted to also sit down, and not a a part of our original plan. That they were refused to be sat down separately anyways. We would have been more than happy to leave to make room for others if there was a line or wouldn’t have even expected to be sat if the bar was at capacity. Either way, It’s funny he mentioned how the additional people with us would have filled the rest of your empty sitting area on a Saturday at 9 p.m was such an inconvenience for you. Walking by it again an hour after leaving, noticing no one was in there. Your vibrant ignorance is...

Pretty Decent has become one of our favorite bars in town since it opened earlier this year. We love a bar with a unique identity and PD fits the bill. There is nothing else like it in town - a focus on ethically sourced agave and other botanical spirits, specifically from Central and South America. John (co-owner/bar director) has traveled extensively and has a deep knowledge of the products he offers and the processes by which they’re made. I usually order from the current menu (changes every few months), but John maintains an extensive spirits list for those who prefer a simple pour, and he’ll also do a dealer’s choice or a classic like a daiquiri or margarita. The space is light, with several two-tops and plenty of seats at the bar.

John’s wife and co-owner Jeanne runs the plant shop at the front of Pretty Decent. She’s a master gardener and is happy to discuss plants and what might be best for your home or to give as a gift. There are also beautiful pots and other plant care item in the shop, and Jeanne offers plant care classes as well as DIY botanical art classes (check the website!).

PD is a great place for a drink or to buy a plant or other gift for yourself or a friend (they have a selection of tequila/mezcal bottles for carryout too), all while experiencing some of the best hospitality in Louisville. Just don’t ask...

My bf & I stopped by for a casual night out since we had heard some fairly good things about the place and omg did it exceed expectations. As soon as you walk in you're met with a gorgeous display of plants--most of which you can buy. The bar itself was very clean & the menu was incredibly elaborate. It had a few items I wasn't really familiar with, I tend to go the basic route when it comes to my drinks, but when I saw a coconut matcha drink (non-alcoholic) I knew I needed to give it a shot. As someone who's taking a bit of a break from drinking I don't feel like I missed out in the slightest, it was super light, delicious, and incredibly cute.

The bartender was very personable, immediately asked if we had any dietary restrictions/preferences, & could tell us the ingredients in each drink. He literally told us how one drink was brewed in a way that included shrimp in their process (bf is vegan, couldn't have that one) & it was a canned item--I cannot stress enough how knowledgeable/selective this man was about his menu. He was very easy to talk to (and bless his heart we did talk his ear off for a bit lol), but you can tell how much he cares about his job. We will absolutely be back to try more drinks and maybe buy a...

Pretty Decent, or Extremely Exceptional? The drinks that I had were light, refreshing, and well-balanced. I've never ever liked scotch, but Pretty Decent's Islay Daiquiri (I think that's the name) made me a convert. I ended with a non-alcoholic matcha coconut cocktail which is just as good as any of the spirited options. The Oaxacan peanuts were seasoned to perfection and are a must-have! The plant selection is highly curated with a great selection for beginner plant parents. The prices were the best I've found in the city so far! Going back to stock up next week 🌿 The ambience is bright and airy. The bar isn't huge but it's spaced well so you won't be knocking into other patrons. You can tell that everything in this bar/shop was meticulously chosen - even the bathroom has 10/10 ambience!
