Will probably need to go here again after the soft opening, but this review is based on the soft opening visit experience.
The Good: I ordered the Red Hot Chicken wings dish, with a side order of white rice. The food quality was good. The chicken I had was extra crispy but not oily. The breading was light and not heavily caked. This was a 3-spicy level (hottest), but I feel was the perfect level of spicy. All in all, the chicken was great. I also got a Honeydew Boba Tea, which was also great.
The Bad: This was a soft opening, which I could expect things to be a little slow. However, between the time I ordered and received my food, 45 minutes had elapsed, and I only received my food when I did because the manager saw that I was waiting and took my ticket back to the kitchen to "expedite" my order. This appeared to be the trend of the day, as many of the people dining in looked like they were waiting a while too. Only fraction of the patrons dining in actually had food, several customers had to receive part of their order and come get the remainer of their order 10-15 minutes later because things were not ready. They will need to be better at getting food out or they will struggle. Knowing this was a soft opening, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that this will improve over time.
The Ugly: Although the food was good, my order was incorrect. I ordered at the kiosk and per my order, was shown for wings I should receive 8 wings for $14.95. I only got 4 wings with my order. So, either the kiosk I ordered from was wrong and these were some super expensive wings, or I only received half of what I paid for. During the soft opening, it was advertised that a free specialty drink would be offered with an order of an entree, but no specialty drink discount was applied or offered upon ordering my food. After waiting 45+ minutes, to only get 4 wings was depressing.
Overall: The quality of the food was good, to me this made up for some of the issues I experienced. However, long wait times, getting orders wrong, and not fulfilling offers that were originally offered are not a good combination for success in the restaurant business. I hope to go again to give this place a 2nd chance, I would like to try some of the other flavors and sides, however it will be a while as I am hoping they will work out some of these problems before...
Read moreThe photos and descriptions on Uber Eats need to be edited. I ordered chicken tacoS (pictured with three tacos) and got one. I ordered Bao bunS and received one. They did not come with the side of kimchi but were suppose to. I did order an extra Kimchi, but it was very small. Either that, or we were just starving because we got less than half of the food we ordered. I called the restaurant to ask before assuming the missing items were the fault of my driver and they said the menu was wrong on Uber Eats and suggested I reach out to them. They did not offer to make it right. The food had great flavor, despite being cold. I'm obviously not going to remove the drivers tip for something that wasn't their fault with more than half our items missing, so I majorly overpaid and didn't have enough food for my family.
I haven't been to establishment in-person, but I wasn't impressed with the explanation I got by phone, the lack of effort to make it right, or the service as a whole. I definitely wouldn't order CM Chicken from a third-party delivery service and I would be hesitant to patronize this restaurant at all based on this experience. I understand Uber Eats makes mistakes, but I find it hard to believe they wrote this...
Read moreI’m so excited for this restaurant to be in Louisville as I always had to travel outside the city to satisfy my craving for Korean Fried Chicken. I’ve tried Bon Chon, b.b.q. chicken, pelicans and countless others in H-Mart but CM chicken has the best Korean fried chicken!
My husband and I got the whole chicken split with 2 flavors, Garlic Soy and Garlic Mild. Garlic soy has a yummy flavor with a hint of kick. Garlic mild is the OG Yangneum sauce I grew up eating in Korea. All this was about 45 dollars for whole chicken, Ddukbokki, and a matcha boba tea. This was big enough to feed 2 other people and we had plenty for left over. The chicken is so crispy with perfect amount of breading and sauce. The ddukboki was sweet and spicy just as you would expect from the dish. It’s the most well beloved street food in Korea and it’s my personal favorite. Matcha boba tea was one of the best boba teas I’ve had in a while.
We went during lunch and it took about 20 minutes to get our food. The host told us that it would take about 25 minutes for the whole chicken since they make it fresh.
I can’t wait to come back and try their bingsu. I saw someone else get it and it...
