The 2 stars that are here are for the goat cheese dip and our server, both of which were fantastic. Where our experience fell short of 5 stars was the response from the manager to an issue with our main course. Out of the 4 of us dining, 3 had the pork chop. 1 pork chop was white, however the other 2 pork chops that my wife and I ordered were clearly not. The meat was so grey/brown that it could easily be mistaken for beef. The couple that joined us for dinner did not even feel comfortable trying our pork chop. When we inquired about it the manager insisted that it was all fresh cuts of meat and said she would get the chef. The chef was busy but told her to inform us that “with pork chops there are cuts that are closer to the tenderloin that are whiter, juicier, and more tender, and then there are cuts that are furthest away from the tenderloin that are tougher darker, and not as juicy.” She then said I’m sorry about that and walked away. No resolution was given at that time. No offer to cook a new pork chop or an alternate dish, nothing. Not to mention the HORRIBLE response that indicated we probably shouldn’t have been served that meat in the first place.
I want to be completely clear that if we were offered another pork chop that was equivalent to the third party who joined us this would be a 5 star review. I understand mistakes happen and responses to those mistakes are extremely important. We did not eat the meal that we were given, and even though it was removed from our tab we came to have a meal, not to leave hungry and go to a restaurant down the road to get a...
Read moreBartender must have been having a bad night. we came in to grab an after dinner drink (we ate across the street and then walked over) I stood at the bar for a few mins and bartender did not even look up, all I wanted was a cocktail menu, instead of acknowleding me and saying "ill be with you in a minute" he ignored me. To the point another patron made a comment about it. I finally flagged down a server and got a cocktail menu. we sat at one of the bar tables and the bartender came over and said "what do you want" thats it. Not polite at all. We ordered a gold rush and an old fashioned. I was a bartender at a different bourbon bar for a long time and know what these drinks are supposed to taste like. these were terrible. poorly made, like he couldn't take the time to make them properly. Usually I would Just down them and go, but they were so bad we couldn't even finish them. We still paid and tipped him 20%, but we will not be back. A word of advice: if you are busy, just acknowledge the person and tell them you will be with them in a moment. don't avoid eye contact at all costs. Also, just because you are busy doesn't mean you should make hurried, improperly made cocktails, people would rather wait a few extra minutes for one made correctly (especially since they are $10 each) It seems like he can't handle that workload, and yall should have 2 bartenders working on a Saturday night instead of one grumpy one who is too busy to be bothered with making cocktails. It's sad because I used to love this place and cocktails used to be great. I guess this is the...
Read moreStellar service, to die for food, a lovely atmosphere, and the best experience I have had at a restaurant in quite some time.
I’m not sure I have the right words to explain how great our experience was here. The server checked in often without being overbearing. The chief came out every time a plate did while staying off to the side to make sure everyone was happy. I personally hate horseradish so I asked for it without sauce but still tried a bit when it came in a cup off to the side. The chief came over right after and offered to get me a différant one which suited my palet much more and elevated the meal to a new level. The stake frites and the filet were both outstanding- I swear I will never be able to eat fries anywhere else again.
I personally love a mixed drink, but often have trouble knowing what to order do to preferring a sweeter drink. The server asked me to trust the bartender and I did- it was absolutely worth it. I was served what I believe was called a bourbon breeze and let me tell you I was blown away. It was sweet yet also mature and was the icing on the cake.
The tables are spaced so that you have room to move around and also done up spectacularly with linens and candle light. The music is tasteful but also subtle so you can here your partner speaking.
I feel like I couldn’t have made a better choice for my reservation for my husbands birthday, we both had an amazing night out I won’t forget and I will absolutely be coming back again- especially for the dessert menu that was creative and had a bit of all my favorite things...
