Grappa contemporary Italian restaurant and wine bar — Restaurant in Louisville

I've been coming here sice they built this Restaurant & it was called Milanos before the name change. Last wknd I ordered a Meat Lovers Calzone with Extra Cheese & a House Salad for takeout. The Food was excellent! The Manager is amazing & the Restaurant has a great ambiance. The only problem I have is every single time I enter the Restaurant & stand at the Register where the Sign says wait to be seated; No one Ever, ever, ever comes over to say anything. 9 times out of 10 I've always had to walk up to someone to ask for help even though they've seen me standing their. Upon arrival there's the eye contact from the servers, waiters, dish washers, etc walking around the whole place but know one thinks to say after seeing you their for so long, hey I'll get someone for you. Hey have you been helped? It takes just a second to do that. instead I'm now being stared at by Customers dining in because they now notice it.That's the worst when your alone standing feeling uncomfortable for what seems to be an eternity without any acknowledgment. This has deterred me from coming back everytime, but I keep coming back for the great Food & Convenience. All i ask as a Customer is that you please train your Employee's to acknowledge your Customers upon arrival no matter who they are. Thank...

I went here with family a few weeks ago to celebrate my cousin's birthday and honestly I was really disappointed. The food was okay and kind of mediocre. The service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. Our server was a middle aged guy with dark hair, but I don't remember his name. He was fairly nice, when he was actually at our table. He did not check in much at all and we constantly had to flag him down. And the restaurant was not busy. At one point I saw him sitting down across the restaurant with his eyes closed. He did not even ask my mom if she wanted anything to drink and he was literally standing right beside her. Later on he basically threw the salads on the table. I say threw because some of it spilled out on the table. We asked if it could please be cleaned up and we could get some napkins. He came back and attempted to clean up the mess. Then he sat down some napkins and they had marinara sauce on them! Then the entrees came out way too fast and the table was cramped. The whole experience was kind of frustrating. We celebrated my best friend's birthday here. I had never even heard of Grappo's or Milano's (former name). Let me tell you as soon as we walked in, just based on the atmosphere and ambiance, I knew we were in for a treat! I ordered the sausage roll, and let me tell you, it was HUGE! I had plenty left over to bring home to my husband and he was just as amazed with the food as I was! The canoli cake was PHENOMENAL!
