This is my second visit. On my first visit we got a cookie "to go" and it was delicious. Today I got a latte and it was only so so. I was meeting someone from Chicago who is thinking of doing business here and I recommended this place remembering the cool vibe. Unfortunately, I did not remember the music being really loud. The sign up front actually says "loud music". There was no place for us to speak away from the music. There is not much seating. Another couple came in and sat next to the juke box. They asked the barista if she could turn it down so they could hear and she said "no". They started laughing at how rude that was and they moved to seats in the window saying to me something like "we just wanted a cup of coffee and need to get away from that loud jukebox". The business person I was meeting laughed with me about it and we were both very uncomfortable. I do a lot of remote work. Obviously there is a market for extremely loud coffee shops with good food but I guess I'm not it and that's ok. If you have a business meeting, no matter who you are, this is definitely not it. Read morePros: treats, coffee, atmosphere.
Treats: Love the cookies! Warm in-house, packages to-go, or mixes. Other mixes are great for gifting like brownies. Cute merchandise for sale too. I bought a cute MiiR travel mug. Coffee beans for sale too.
Coffee: well done! Beans are not flavored with fruits so it's straightforward and delightful. They know how to make a mean latte and have dairy-alternative creamer without seed oils, hooray!
Atmosphere: comfortable, plant-friendly, with a retro speak-easy cafe vibe. Good work environment. Street facing window bar with stools. Great place on a rainy day.
Cons: not large, posted menu. May be a challenge for the visually impaired to read the "newspaper" style menu sitting near...
Read moreI was told this was the best place to get coffee in Louisville. This was very wrong. We went to this location first and got a latte. It was $9.35 which I was first appalled by. Then, the coffee itself was terrible. I asked to see if they could make it sweeter, & the server put more vanilla in it but was not very nice about it. This did not help the coffee at all. I thought it was maybe just the barista that made the coffee so I went to the Mark location right after. I got the same coffee and it was just as bad. I have been to many coffee shops in my life and this was by far the worst. I will not be spending my money here ever again nor telling anyone else...
