Writing another review because of the second bad experience I had here. My friend and I ordered for pick up on the app. I ordered a side of kimchi and we requested utensils. We were at school doing homework and needed something to munch on. Drove to bonchon to pick up the order and back to school. They forgot to pack the kimchi, and there were no napkins or utensils. I had to call and let them know we were missing an item. The person on the phone said “oh yea we ran out of kimchi”.. okay so why didn’t you let us know when we were picking up the order? I don’t care if it’s just 3 bucks, I still paid for something I didn’t receive and your employee didn’t even let us know. Were you going to just plan on keeping my money if I hadn’t called? So then I asked her if she can refund me and she said she can’t but her manager can when she’s in tomorrow morning. So the manager wasn’t working the night shift, a little strange that there’s no one there who can process the refund, but whatever I left my name and number and the employee said they would call back tomorrow morning. It’s around 12 pm and I hadn’t received a phone call, so I call again and ask for the manager, she’s not there, according to the girl on the phone. I tell the girl about the situation and she seemed utterly confused and pretty much useless and tells me to call back at 6 pm when the manager arrives. Where the hell are the managers when you need them?? Why isn’t anyone else able to process a refund? Customer service here seems unorganized and really unprofessional. There was not a single person that I thought was helpful. Here’s a tip, update your app if you’re out of an item or at least inform the person upon arrival or offer a...

Read moreI had to change my review. 3 years ago this place was excellent. We keep ordering from Bonchon thinking maybe it was an off night, but we spent a ton of money on food for a birthday yesterday and it was just awful. The fried rice was the only thing that was good. The boneless strip were truly 1/4th the size they were 3 years ago. They're the size of my pinky finger and are cooked to hell so they're incredibly dry and end up feeling like your chewing on wood chips. These were truly inedible and we were stuck with an expensive 20 piece box. We got soy garlic and the newer Korean bbq flavor and the have almost no difference in flavor. At least it was barely detected in our order. Finally, my all time favorite item on the menu is the Korean tacos. Tonight was the first time the were soggy and falling apart... just didn't taste flavorful. They also changed their coleslaw recipe since the last time we ordered. It used to be my absolute favorite now it's bland and tastes like every other boring coleslaw.
I'm really sad that one of my favorite places to get chicken has gotten so consistently bad. With so many other chicken places in and around Lowell, there's no reason for us to keep ordering expensive and really disappointing chicken from Bonchon.
The fried chicken and fried rice was great. This isn't really what you'd call authentic Korean food but it's good "fast food" Korean, and the only place in Lowell that has Korean food. It was busy on a Friday night but we were sat right away. Waitress was a little slow but nice. Udon soup was loaded with mushrooms and little else, so it was a let down. Garlic soy chicken and fried rice were definitely...
