Golden Bowl Ardmore — Restaurant in Lower Merion Township

I’ve been going there for quite sometime now. I’ve dined in with the family on special occasions and had takeout many times. Overall, I like their food. The problem I have with them is inconsistency with the food. Sometimes the food is too bland and sometimes they’re too salty. The dishes I get most of time are shrimp fried rice and hot and sour soup. Their shrimp fried rice is better than many other Chinese restaurants in the area(You taste real shrimp). The general Tso’s chicken is pretty good with real white meat. This time I was in the mood for something different, I ordered their chow fun with duck meat for the first time. I usually get their beef chow fun, and they’re delicious. But duck meat was disappointing. Duck skin was too hard I couldn’t chew and duck fat ruined the whole dish by making it soooo greasy. I recently had a very disappointing experience at Golden Bowl in Ardmore. I ordered the roasted duck noodle, which was absolutely awful. The roasted duck tasted sour and had a terrible smell, indicating it had gone bad. It was so bad that it actually made me vomit. We also tried several other dishes, but none of them were any good either. The flavors were bland, and the textures were off.

To make matters worse, the prices were significantly higher than other Chinese restaurants in the area. Given the poor quality of the food, the high prices were unjustifiable. The ambiance of the restaurant was nothing special, and the service was mediocre at best.

Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time. I strongly recommend avoiding Golden Bowl. Save your money and go to one of the many other Chinese restaurants in the area that offer better food at more...

Always friendly and accommodating. The food is what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. They have a large menu and most can be customized. They even made a dish for me that wasn't on the menu. The service is fast, but sometimes a little too fast. The sauce on my food wasn't even heated through when they delivered it.

We have also gotten delivery, which came when they said it would. The sauce for the sweet and sour chicken was missing and they said they'd drop it off right away. No one came (30 minutes) so we called back. They said they forgot and got it to us very quickly.
