My boyfriend and I decided to order from here because the other two Chinese places were either closed or they didn't have what he wanted. I've had their food before and I knew it wasn't the best but he'd never tried it so he was open to ordering from there.
We ordered fried dumplings with extra sauce and a small wonton soup. We came in there like 30mins before they were supposed to close, and the woman at the front counter stared us down when we walked in. We ordered our food and paid, but from the way she looked at us and from how little she said, we felt very unwelcome.
The food arrived within the time she said it would (between 5-10mins), and since we didn't have time to eat there we decided to eat in the car. To eat his dumplings my boyfriend needed a knife, so he went up to the counter and asked for it. The woman said they didn't have plastic knives; we ended up going to the pizza place next door and getting them.
When it was time to eat we opened up our food and, what do you know, there was NO extra dumpling sauce. There were Iike 8 dumplings and ONE small little cup of that sauce! I paid over $8 for that order, and I sure as hell hope I didn't pay for extra sauce because he didn't get it! Also, the dumplings were waaay too fried and they broke apart easily, something quality dumplings don't do. My wonton soup was bland, with thick, battered wontons I had to practically choke down. The broth wasn't anything special. Also, my boyfriend said the food made him sick.
To summarize, the service was borderline hostile, the food was worse than standard, and they didn't give the extra items we requested. Please do yourself a favor and order from literally ANYWHERE else; there are better Chinese restaurants 5-10mins away...
Read moreOrdered S18 the Hunan Dynasty which was supposed to be Shrimp and Beef Hunan per their website. I was given Spicy Shrimp and some sad excuse for Hunan Beef. The Hunan Beef had some peppers and mushrooms and tons of onions. Very Cheap. I called to ask why the shrimp was in a red sauce. The woman on the phone was clueless and handed me to a man on the phone who told me it was correct. The menu never said anything about spicy shrimp. I told him I'd send him a picture of the menu I saw online and he was going to send me one from his side. He called back about 5 minutes later. No apology, no photo. He must have realized he was wrong and offered to either remake the dish or have me bring back the food. This was well past lunch time so we obviously had already eaten it. I asked for a credit for next time and was told no. Gave up and decided it's my loss, just a lesson learned and going back to my normal Chinese place. Moral of the story: If you don't want to wait till your favorite Chinese place is open,...
Read moreThis was the first time I tried this restaurant. I used the BeyondMenu app to order. My order was ready and waiting when I arrived.
The food was fair. Neither bad nor really good just average. I ordered the shredded pork in garlic sauce. It tasted fine but it was slices of pork and not shreds. I also ordered a spicy salmon roll and Bridgetown roll. Neither roll was really flavorful and because they were packed in the bag with the hot food they were pretty warm when I got home just a few minutes later. They had a coupon for a free egg roll with a $20 purchase, so I did receive a free egg roll. Egg roll was good.
I may try them again but I don't think I will order any rolls from the...
