1 year since the review and it still rivals every sushi place I've been too. The sushi is the right price and to a high quality. It is the best sushi in the Feasterville-Trevose/Far NE Philadelphia area and easily gives other restaurants outside the area a run for their money. As I continue to try more restaurants, I routinely return to Kyoto because the others leave me dissapointed. The prices are more than fair and I consider the price for quality way above par. They have been a bit bogged down during peak hours, but I have been in worse and don't mind the wait. Highly suggest the "Spicy Girl Roll." Kyoto is the type of restaurant that when you sit down and take your first piece of sushi, you know right away that they're on point. In the dozens of times I've been there only two were abnormal - as in not as good as normal, but still better than the other options in the area. I went just last week for close to what is probably my 30th time and I'm looking forward to 31. The service is always good, the Sushi is always excellent and the atmosphere is always calming and casual. Kyoto has become a staple in my life. I've had the Hibachi as well, not as the show, but as a meal at a regular table and I found that to be high quality as well. You can't go wrong with Kyoto, IMO. For the best experience, I'd suggest trying to avoid peak hours. They do get bogged down when every table is full, but that just means you'll wait a hair longer than normal - very much worth...
Read moreI had a horrible experience in this restaurant tonight, the racial profiling is crazy. The server who never served us a new server came to my table demanding a tip that we had already had on the table and was asking us if we have a problem to let her know. We never had a problem with the food or staff our waiter was ok and we was somewhat satisfied. My food did come out cold but they fixed it .So we decided not to leave a tip and removed all of our money because you cant force us to tip and she did this to no one else and I was just there with my mom two days ago and left a tip. So we left a dollar for sauce she brought us. She followed us outside yelling keep your money I dont need it throwing the dollar which was never left for her and she wasn't even our waiter and when we called into the restaurant the manager stated if we leave a tip she will have her say sorry. I said I'm calling #fox29news and my lawyer to report this kind of behavior and then she said hold on and put someone on the phone and said sorry real low and fast. I will never eat there again in my life. Dont eat here they are rude disrespectful and the manager is ignorant. I wish I could give 0 stars because that was totally uncalled for and embarrassing. They will definitely...
Read moreI was ordering from this place for about 2-3 years. But few last months I am having awful experience all the time. The rules are always different! One time we wanted to order hibachi for 2 people, and waitress told us that chieff cooks only for 3 or more. Week later we ordered hibachi for 3 people and just verified with waitress that chief will cook for 3. Waitress was confused why we are asking and after we asked her what is the minimum number, she said 2 people. Today we ordered King Lobster Roll ($6.50) for pick up. When we opened it, there were 5 rolls. As I was ordering there all the time I've never seen 5 rolls in menu. After I called and asked how many rolls goes in King Lobster Roll, they answered 6, and after I told them that we just ordered 10 min ago and there's 5 rolls, the person answered that she will verify, and after 3 sec confirmed that "yeah, there goes 5 rolls" And, soy sauce is like a luxury for this place. When you asks for extra soy sauce (because if you will not ask, you will end up eating "dry" sushi , trust me) they are giving the amount that slightly covers just the bottom. I liked this place so much, but after today's experience I will prefer usual buffet than Kyoto...
