Jake's Sports Cafe — Restaurant in Lubbock

I am reviewing this as a concert venue, nothing else. I don't eat here and I don't drink, so I have no opinion on those parts of the place. What I do have an opinion on is this: the flooring in the concert area. It used to be...just concrete, as I recall. Well, someone had the bonehead idea to cover most of the floor in what seems to be vinyl flooring. One drop of water/beer/anything wet renders the floor almost as slippery as ice, not just where it is wet, but any steps you take after stepping in it. I went to the Soulfly concert last night, all ready to mosh. That lasted no time at all. We were all going straight down to the ground, because you cannot put your foot down on that surface without it slipping, not a little, but badly. I gave up after the second attempt to go around, when I had to slow down so much, there wasn't a point in even being there. I was in brand new, slip-resistant boots, as well, and it made no difference. I might as well have come in roller skates. Max (the singer) kept saying "let's start a circle pit!" Yeah, we tried and couldn't...at all. All we could do was stand around like goons, or try to move, only to fall right down again. Some went down HARD, almost ALL without hitting anyone or making any contact with anyone else, just from slipping on the floor. Whoever did this to the floor...I can't explain the thinking. If you have metal shows, you can't have a floor like this. I won't go to shows here anymore until they fix it. There is no point. Inexcusable. People are not only not going to get to start a pit, but people are going to get badly hurt. This floor is an incomprehensibly bad...

Alright doing something different..... this is a review in progress. Live Review😂 Went to bar before coming to back to shoot some darts, and they all saw and acknowledged me..... shir said she would be right with me, mind you, it's a Monday night and not to bad but not even a smidgen, of a real waitresses (myself) meaning of a busy night. So waited for 2 minutes. She finished up serving them and walked right to the back, like I wasn't even there. So ok I'm older and more mature then I used to be, and blew it off and figured they'll come see if I need a drink back here in the dart/pool area. Well sadly that was at 6:18 and as of right now it is 6:28... it just really is so sad how many non-caring, lazy, attitude having, people we have in the customer service business today in this town let alone the world of serving! Idk I guess I was raised (blessed to be disciplined) to work hard and respect others. This long post and still not one waitress has came to see I'd I need anything to drink ! Smh it almost breaks my heart that some people can be so dumb and or careless. Pics below p.s. it is now been 20 minutes and they still have not come back here , now I'm pissed lol

This used to be our go too place to have a couple of beers and play some pool. Everytime we go in were respectful and cause no trouble at all. Then one day we go in and the manager in charge follows me to the restroom and stands behind me at the stall. I turn around and he asked me if I have coke??? (Not the kind you drink) Then told me that I would have to leave. Not only do we not mess with that type of drug but were so shocked we would even be asked that. We were so confused and felt so violated. Like anyone in this situation would do I confronted the manager and asked him why he would think that we were doing that? And he said yall look like the type that would be doing coke..I was stunned and told him I wanted a corporate number and he repeatedly he kept saying that his dad was the owner and he could do what ever he wanted. I will never ever step foot in a place like this again. I've never felt so embarrased and profiled...
