Lantern Tavern — Restaurant in Lubbock

We come to your establishment once a month for a Thursday night trivia girls night. We thoroughly enjoy our time together and trying to win trivia! Our service the last three months in a row has been worse than terrible. Somehow we cannot get away from having Heather as a server. It has been taking almost 2 hours to get our food out and refills and drink orders are nonexistent. Tonight we went to the bar multiple times to get beers and bloody Mary’s and such. We have asked to speak to management, but we are told that she is the manager. I am not really sure how because she always seems high as a kite and honestly does not know up from down. Your establishment is losing money by having her as a server because we would definitely order 2 to 3 more rounds if we had a server, who even knew who we were or that we even existed. The bartenders are super friendly and nice and very helpful but I don’t think they can even keep up with what she is trying to do. Tonight she disappeared from the floor for over 45 minutes. We are not the only table having issues with her. There were three tables tonight That asked for food and refills and a manager multiple times. It is getting really ridiculous and I hate to think that you were losing business because of one person. We are looking at possibly moving our girls night to a different establishment because we come out for a good time and we all leave irritated and frustrated. She never brings back the correct change and half of the time she brings back another ticket for getting we’ve already paid. I would really like some feedback from you on...

Overall 4/5. They definitely have the potential to improve though. It was our first visit and I wish we sat on the patio. It looks great out there!

First thing, there's a weird smell inside. I hope that's temporary.

The service is great. Waitstaff was responsive and friendly. The atmosphere is stellar and I love that they host open mic comedy and trivia nights!

As for the food, its kind of bland. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, green chili burger, and jalapeño poppers. The spicy chicken sandwich was only "spicy" because they threw some jalapeño slices on it. I think it needs a spicy house sauce. The green chili burger was good but could benefit from a tad more seasoning. The poppers only get one slice of bacon and the peppers are a bit undercooked/closer to raw.

That being said, we'll definitely be back to give Lantern Tavern...

My family and I have been loyal customers for several years but in an unfortunate turn of events I will not be returning after my last experience. Normally you would expect that if you had an issue with customer service the manager would be receptive to resolving the issue; however, the was not the case. We are not hard to please customers , yet I’ve never seen a manager cut off a conversation mid-sentence or proceed to argue with a customer. It was extremely disappointing especially when the entire restaurant had maybe a total of seven customers and he could have taken the time to some have manners. Regardless, good customer service and general courtesy is a big factor in where we choose to eat and this failed any expectation you could have.This deserved zero stars but that’s not possible so this is how we...
