The FARMHOUSE breakfast and lunch review in Lubbock, Texas. Overall I’d say it’s a 8.5 on the food. #Lubbock #Texas
GG
First off the food was good but the rating I give is an over all rating. Today we got a southern and south western Benedict. The server seemed over whelmed, we get coffee and water and that takes 20 minutes ( she states they were eating off clean coffee mugs, my thought use a togo cup and explain mugs are being cleaned no big deal). This restaurant should let folks know this stuff is from scratch and it takes a minute. 30 minutes for breakfast was ok but you don’t see anything or no one explains these items are not premade. The cost with tip 18 percent was 32 bucks and some change. I think this restaurant would do better of communicating how they make what they make. I’m not in a rush but if you wait 30 minutes and you don’t know how they are making your food would make think these people are slow .. when I ate the chicken with my southern Benedict it was great. I just wouldn’t take a large group there at all because this restaurant from my view was struggling with simple things. The jelly’s in the table are great and the food is magnificent but the service and over appearance of the place is lack luster .. appearance can be objective but you look at the outside and walk in and it’s like well my barn has more character. If the staff was more welcoming maybe that wouldn’t be noticeable. I hope I can edit this review in time to 4 or 5 stars because the food was hot .. my hash browns on point a mixture of crispy and savory ( I have been to thousands of diners and these hash browns are top 10). I think with some consistency and team work this place could be a solid 5 star but today that was not the case .. simple things just have one set of doors unlocked and guide traffic to your hosts .. simple stuff ..

Took the wife to The Farmhouse Restaurant, for the first time ever, before our Monthly HEB run. IYKYK. Pros: Service 10/10- the lady’s working there were awesome and in great spirits, lot of laughs and happy to see us. Food came out fast and fresh and hot! Veggies eggs Benedict 9/10 - everything was perfect. Best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had. Hashbrowns were 🔥 and cooked perfectly. Everything was fresh and delicious except the spinach which was very bitter, like it was either, old, canned or burnt can’t tell which. But easy enough to pick out. Grits 10/10 - real butter not that country crock canola oil crap. “big as your head” Pancake 10/10- fluffy and delicious- 3 eggs perfectly cooked, again in real Butter, thick cut bacon. Farmhouse hash 6/10- pork was great, eggs were great, bbq was great, but the potatoes were very under cooked. They were perfectly golden brown, so I’m guessing the fryer was turned up too high or maybe that’s just the way they cook them. But I ate the topping with my wife’s hashbrowns and they were amazing, so when I go back I’ll just order it on top of the hash browns instead of risking hard potatoes. And it would be a 10/10 Biscuits & gravy 5/10- again it may just be preference but the biscuits to me were hard thin and chewy, and the gravy needed something to light it up. Some kind of salty fat, I think. Overview: The place is fast, fresh, friendly and clean! You can see why they have a loyal following and After 2 or 3 visits you can really refine your order to fit your your pallet. Definitely recommend to friends and family.

My partner and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and ordered a chicken and waffle with eggs and a southern Benedict.

Service was so spectacularly bad, I’m just going to use bullet points instead of presenting a narrative of our worst-ever brunch experience in Lubbock.

-Our main courses took nearly 45 minutes to come out. And that was without my side of eggs or syrup. The eggs only came out after I reminded our server half an hour later. And they were not particularly good.

-They brought out the wrong food for my partner, which then took another 40 minutes to re-make.

-The chicken in both dishes was dry and stringy like shoe leather while the waffles were soggy and not fully-cooked.

-The eggs in the southern Benedict had completely solid yolks.

-Instead of actual napkins and silverware (and I am no cutlery snob- plastic is fine as long as it accomplishes the job), every table had these bottom-of-the-barrel packets with what was essentially a square of toilet paper and some flimsy plastic junk that couldn’t even cut jello.

-This place was not nearly as busy as other Sunday brunch places we’ve been to, and yet there were tons of empty tables, which stayed unclean for nearly the entire time we were there. The young teenager who was bussing and preparing tables was clearly not doing a proper job.

-When all was said and done, we got $2 off our meal because of the inconvenience. In my opinion, it should’ve been free.

-At least our waiter got some points for being open and honest with us. We asked him what was going on in the kitchen and he told us there was a lack of communication between the staff, many of whom were new. One person also apparently got fired midshift. Hopefully this place adopts some better business practices and gets their act together because it apparently...

I wouldn't give this place any stars the manager/ owner is not a person u wanna work for ot even eat his food. He treats his waitresses very poorly when when it's his fault we were there about 2 hours before we got our food right. The waitress got our order right cause she would repeat it back to us as soon as we ordered it. When I asked to talk to the manager/owner it took him about 20 or 30 minutes to makes his way to our table. He totally blamed the waitress for the food when the food was late or the wrong this or even a hair in just our table his man does not know the definition of a cook his good was disgusting. He made the waitress cry she took it hard when he blamed her. Also when I got up to pay they took for ever to give me my change. Then when we were walking to our car he sent a waitress to go get our licenses plate then when we when back in the to ask why they were getting our license plate the lady claim that my money was a fake. When I told him he could of talked to me n addressed he he said I could leave n that he was gonna call the cops. He called the cops we waited. The cop seen the 100 dollar bill n said there was nothing wrong with it that he just did everything so poorly n that we hadn't done anything wrong but give him a peace of our minds. The cop said that we would be surprised on how many times this farmhouse has police come to there place for something. I will never go back to this place. People if u go there ask first how the cook is n if it's him I wouldn't stay. I can't understand why he would send his waitress to get a license plate putting her on the line his just looking for...
