Wing Daddy's - Lubbock — Restaurant in Lubbock

I have been to this location 4 times. The first time the service was spectacular. We like wings and are regulars at other places in town. After going here the first time we we amazed at the service, the food was great, and we decided to make this our go to spot.

The second visit the food was equally as good but the service was just average. Nothing worthy of complaining about but nothing stellar either.

The third visit service was bad. Food was still good but we had to wait forever on drinks, refills, etc. The place was not that busy either.

Our most recent visit, and likely our last was on a Sunday around 1:00. The restaurant was no more than 25% full. Our waitress was probably the worst waitress I have had in a long time and we eat out a lot. She just seemed like she hated her job, didn't't want to be there, and everything seemed like a burden to her.

There were 5 in our group and she took our drink orders and 4 got soft drinks and I got a beer. We also ordered an appetizer when we ordered our drinks. 10 minutes later she brings the soft drinks and asks if we want an appetizer. We tell her we already ordered one. She says oh yeah I forgot. I still have no beer. Some more time goes by and she brings our appetizer and I still have no beer. We are nearly done with the appetizer and she comes by and asks if we are ready to order. I tell here I am ready for my beer and she gets this disgruntled look and goes and gets it. I could go on and on but you can see how things were going.

After our first visit we were pumped about this place but each visit after that has got progressively worse. I don't think we will be back. It is a shame I like the food.

I don't use facebook and I think I gave a fair amount of details. Read the reviews here and at Yelp. There is a general theme of poor service. It isn't rocket science. People want to be seated, and get their drinks and food in a timely manner. Seems like poor management to me as there are numerous complaints. Understaffed? poor training?...

Iv been here enough times to where I feel I could right a reasonable review. When it comes to the service, the servers do a good job at keeping your drinks filled and make sure they stay consistent checking on you to make sure your are good and don't need anything. The food is very consistent and their wings I'd hafto say are probably some of the best with flavor and size, their wings are huge. Very good flavor profile and consistency. The atmosphere is a great, but then there comes the music we call it club daddies because the music is so freaking loud its hard to hear the person or people that you are with and you find yourself talking loud. I'm not sure why, but it's like they wake up and choose maximum volume every morning, it would be nice to be able to have a decent conversation without hafting to yell. 1 thing that did happen was on a takeout order when I was at the bar to pay for my food, one of the girls got my credit card number and tried charging my account over $700 it didn't happen that day, but they did keep my credit card for what seemed like a long time. About a week later someone was trying to bug something with my card and I knew it had to be from wing daddies because the card was brand new and no one else but me had touched it or seen it but me up untill I went to wing daddies. This place has really gone down hill. My husband was craving wings, so we went after we left the Tech game. We ordered the Funky Fries and a 20 piece wings with two sauces to share. The place was pretty empty, we thought that was strange since the game was still going on and was televised. When we got our food though it became very clear why the place was so vacant. The fries were warm at best and sadly, that was the best part of the meal. My husband ordered a beer that was barely cold and the wings were so small and just extremely overcooked to the point of tasting dry and burnt. Also, for being a slow night, service was very mediocre. When our waitress finally came back around and we asked for our ticket, she asked if we wanted a to go box and we told her no, because the wings were not good. They tasted bad and were very dry. Her response? Oh yeah I'm sorry, people have been telling me that. We have small wings now and I think the cooks are overcooking them. Sorry about that. So, that tells me they know the food is not good, but they still continue to serve it and don't really care. Our bill ended up being close to $60 for a meal that was really pretty awful.
