Alexander's — Restaurant in Ludlow

I entered this experience very hopeful. Going to an established, local business with years of history and time to perfect it's craft... The atmosphere was quiet, and peaceful, and the wait staff was very nice; Pleasant. The food however, was NOT what I was hoping for....

I got a calzone with hamburger and Roni.. and my daughter got a bacon pizza. The calzone was deflated, flat, and mushy.. the entire thing was floppy and soft. I can't explain why, but the best way to describe it was like.. chewing on wet paper towels.. it's was just swishing around tasteless; no highs or lows.. just bland boring greasy "stuff". The pizza also was rather tasteless and disappointing. I think I was really missing crispy crust, and vibrant flavor. This was just like a wet greasy dough.

UPDATE: We just sampled meatball! The meatball, also was a disappointment.. I can't figure out why? Is it just the sauce in general? It's a very "bright" sauce.. maybe a bit too sweet.

I wish I could say that I just ordered the wrong thing... Maybe I'm not used to Grecian style food? Unfortunately I will not return to find out. I am sorry to be such a wet blanket with this review.. but that's what I just got...

Usually like it. I ordered a pizza tonight. Asked for light sauce. They misheard and made it with white sauce... Normally wouldn't be an issue, have it remade, no problem. However my wife stopped on her way home to get it, I texted her telling her to check as I had a feeling the woman who took the order on the phone misheard me as they rushed me off the phone. When she realized it was wrong and told them both the woman at the counter and the cook argued with her even after she explained I had messaged her and told her I thought they misheard, as if there would be reason to just make them remake it when it was clearly a mistake... To top it off it looks like the cook went out of his way to make a crummy pie to replace it as there were areas missing any cheese and sauce all over the crust and clearly under cooked

Don't know if i would go back after that kind of service... Awful... You guys need to learn how to...

While staying in the Ludlow, MA, area, my wife and I decided to walk up the road to get some Chinese food. Because it was closed, we ended up walking up the road a little further and discovered Alexander’s Pizza and Restaurant.

To keep it short, the food was great, served hot, large portions, and cooked to perfection. My wife had the meatball sub with salad and I had the fish and chips. The sub was overloaded with sauce and cheese. Fabulous tasting meatballs. The fish was cooked to perfection. The steak fries were amazing, crispy with hot soft potato center. Buttery tasting green beans. The interior is a little dated, but still nice.
