Due to the poor quality of the food and the laughably bizarre experience I need to share mine and my friends experience at the cotton patch. I have eaten at the restaurant before and absolutely enjoyed my previous experience, but after the last I will more than likely never return. Our server was nice and polite so no complaints in that department. The issue comes in the food and management areas. We were a party of 3, I ordered a burger medium rare, my friends ordered a 6 oz steak well done and a chicken fried steak. When we received our food my friend's steak she had ordered was very rare, she sent it back due to not liking rare steak. My burger was cooked to a charcoal briquette which is absolutely not how I like my food prepared. I did not send my food back due to the simple fact that it is now taboo and frowned upon to cause any slight amount of trouble for food employees, now we didn't make a scene and we were polite the entire time, laughing and attempting to have a nice evening. The largest issue comes from my 3rd friend's meal, the chicken fried streak, after attempting to eat it, he discovered that the cook had not taken the paper off the steak before frying it! I know it is hard to believe that is why I have a picture of it attached to this review. We still at this point were very polite and kind, we spoke to who I assume to be the manager, as she was the first one we could speak to, she took the plate and had another one made for him. At this point we were still not upset, we finished our meal and were getting ready to pay for it, the manager had decided due to our poor experience they would give us free dessert. So together paid over fifty dollars for three meals and two appetizers, we also still tipped, nothing was comped or discounted, and that was the end, when we left, we were going to split up the free dessert they had given so generously, only to find a single slice of carrot cake. From the time I walked into the door until I left, she made me feel like I knew her for a long time. All round positive energy. Even the other staff spoke and made me feel welcome. The food this time was amazing. On a strict diet now, so I had the grilled Cajun duo. EXACTLY. I'll definitely so back Thank you Deania !!!
Update review: I had the worst service today. When we arrived, we were not greeted. A young man seen us come in and didn't even say Hi or just a minute. Another guy came in and the same young man hurried up and greeted him and ask if he's been helped. I'm shaking my head at this time due to we were standing there first. He then ask us how many in our party, I had to look around due to it being only us two. We were seated then he left. He came back a few min later and ask for our drink orders. Gave him that and it took about 10min before he received drinks. Let's just say that I felt that our server did not care what we needed. We were not even offered or giving the bread and butter we had to ask another waitress for drink refills and also for the bread,which is supposed to be complimentary. Our food wasn't right and when we tried to get the waiter he act like we were bothering him. To make it worse another couple came in a party of 4 and they were treated by the same waiter but had better service. Let's just say that I feel because they were Caucasian and we were not, we didn't matter. I probably won't be coming back again. Found out from the receipt his name is Blake. Being a server you need to treat people the way you would want to be treated. Very disappointed 😞

20 minute wait for the steak no problem, no worries, it arrives like a lump of hard burnt coal and was like cutting into a tire, the broccoli was cold, the Bacon mashed potatoes was half, hot half cold. The fried shrimp had cold 🥶 bites to them, half warm, half refrigerator temperature. Spoke to the manager she claimed that the steak was the fault of Caden and offered to make another one with a nother 20 minute wait, I said no just refund out the steak, the manager agreed! I also said that it wasn't Caden's fault, nobody should pass this out as an edible item and I had asked Caden before the manager arrived how could this happen, he said it was frozen had to be defrosted and then grilled the microwave burnt it most likely he and I had the same theory. The manager tried to roll him under the bus. She said that she fixed my bill and reduced the steak out of it, she lied and didn't fix it, Caden & the manager disappeared after ringing up my credit card for the full amount. I paid $66.94 for 2 plates that couldn't be eaten.
