China Hibachi Buffet — Restaurant in Lufkin

This is by far the WORST Chinese buffet I have ever eaten at. We went st 7pm when you think the food would be fresh.Some of the food was barely warm. The sushi tasted like it had been sitting there all day. I had to spit out nearly every 1st bite of everything I put on my first plate. It took me until my 3rd try to be able able to find something I could eat. The meat in the broccoli beef was so tough and in huge pieces. The salt and pepper shrimp were beyond tough. The hot chicken with sliced jalapeños was like putting a chicken flavored rock in your mouth. The wonton soup had large wonton in it that excited me but the broth tasted like old chicken. The egg rolls were nice and crispy but tasted like spoiled pork. The noodles looked dry. The fried rice was nice and fluffy but no flavor. My husband ate the fried shrimp which looked like something from the frozen section at the grocery store. He ate some crawfish he said was ok. The best thing on the entire buffet was the coconut macaroons on the dessert bar. Don't waste your money!! If you do find some good Chinese food in Lufkin please...

Timberland: 23 demerits for food containers stacked without lids, scoops with handles needed, food not stored in clean wrappers/containers, knives stored between equipment and tables, food containers stored directly on floor, cold hold at wrong temperature, ice machine needed to be cleaned, ice scoop not stored in clean container, pest control needed to be increased, general clean of cabinets under grill, ceilings in food prep area, and above dishwasher needed, personal items stored in food prep area, items in hand wash sink, raw food stored above ready-to-eat food, hot hold at wrong temperature, general clean of walls and ceilings needed in food prep area, food manager not on site, and toxic items...

Lots of good food especially when it comes out fresh so try and get the fresh stuff when it first comes out the desserts were great. However the furniture needs to be reupholstered. The employee staff is very friendly. They need to change their filters for their soda machines and ice machines that didn't taste very good. The bathrooms are very dirty and need to be cleaned. The prices were okay about $12 a person. I enjoyed the food immensely. The frog legs were great the catfish was great and the crayfish were great. The crayfish were spicy but not too hot and that's the way I like it. Even the almond cookies were soft and delicious. The ice cream was okay. UPDATE: they now reupholstered the booths.
