Abigail's Tea Room — Restaurant in Lumberton

This is only my third time coming here & this time was definitely different to say the least. Our order was placed at 11:45 & the people I was having lunch with had to be back at work by a certain time so when 12:20 rolls around they had to leave & ended up cancelling their order. Needless to say I guess the lady was the owner because she had been in the kitchen (older Caucasian lady approximately in her late '70s early '80s) sat down at a table & started talking about the people that cancelled their order due to time. Very unprofessional I might add!! So then as she leaves out let's just say she made her business to talk to each table but ours. As if that wasn't enough the lady serving us seemed to get upset & after eating almost all of my meal before even getting a refill. Hospitality is definitely!!!The key when running a business and today definitely showed there's a issue in that...

The honest to God worst customer service in the world. Never go for lunch because you will wait for hours if you decide to wait on your food. Honestly the food is really good but it doesn't take the place of understanding people do not have all day to wait for their food unless they are retired and plan to wait all day. They will run out of what you ordered on your plate and never tell you so you continue to wait for 45 minutes to an hour and when you asked about it they'll say "oh we ran out of that so we didn't make your plate, do you want something else" the only reason this place is still in business and has good ratings is because the food is good but the wait and the lack of communication with staff ridiculous. If you sit down and eat inside the women waiting tables are all angry with each other no one knows what each other is doing. Just give it a try you know exactly...

I picked up food for a buisness here. We made it known over the phone it would be 3 separate order and 3 separate payments. I called in at 12:15, the food was NOT ready until 1:45. Absolutely inexcusable. When I approached the counter I notified her it would be 3 separate payments. Of course she continued as if she didn’t hear me until I said MAAM, they are separate. She proceeds to tell me oh well, I would have to get 8 dollars from someone when I got back to the buisness. Excuse me? I will never visit this establishment again. The lady working the register is beyond incompetent...
