IHOP — Restaurant in Lumberton

July 18th update... we got a call from Tina Burke, she apologized for our experience and said we were invited back to eat free. We took her up on that offer today. It was like night and day different. We were very satisfied. Thank you, one of my favorite places to eat, earned my loyalty again! Worst experience of my life, and that's saying a lot. We arrived at about noon. Our son was taking us out for a gift to his Daddy. The kitchen staff were behaving like they were at a party rather than at work. We were seated next to the kitchen. Finally, a waitress lost 2 tables of ppl who got tired of waiting. She went and told the kitchen staff that she was tired of their behavior. We only know this bc after she left, a few minutes later one of the loud mouths was cursing about it. There were many f bombs used. Our food came out a short time later, it was burnt. The only thing really edible were our French fries. We only ate bc we were starving and cold and we knew complaining was pointless bc we would have had to wait even longer! Our son paid the 70$ check, including 10$ gratuities for our waitress. It wasn't her fault. Oh and as for the Covid restrictions...you can get Covid only in certain places in this restaurant. They made that perfectly clear in their use of space. For example, you can't get Covid in the waiting area where they had everyone crammed. You could get Covid in the dining area but only in a few places in the...

First when you walk in it smells mildey. I figure that may be left over from the hurricane and flooding a few years ago. But when I tried to open a sugar packet the paper was strangely moist. Like there is too much moisture in the air which could be causing that smell. So I ordered the same thing I have ordered from IHOP for the last 6years. Supposed to be four pieces of French toast 2 eggs scrambled with cheese hash browns and bacon crisp.... the first time it came out with my eggs and bacon made into a sandwich with my French toast. I was told by the waitress this is how that comes.... uh it hasnt for the last 6 years at any other IHOP I have ever been to. So she took it back. Mind you they were not busy so I cant understand why it took so long to get our food in the first place. When it comes back out the hashbrowns are not done and disgusting... my eggs have no cheese and my bacon is chewy not crisp... but the French toast is good. I had to find my waitress to ask for a manager. The reason they are even getting two stars is because the manager took my plate back and remade my eggs bacon and hashbrowns himself and was done in under 3mins.... they were good the third time around. The waitress was nice enough but seemed very uninterested in her job.... I would not reccomend this IHOP to anyone and when I got back to Lumberton I sure wont be visiting this...

I first came here when they first opened in Lumberton. An hour went by, the omelet was cold and the cheese had already melted and became hard again. The grits were beyond cold. The server never never brought silverware. That was a long time ago, my wife said I shouldn't base a one time experience on the over all restaurant. Years and years later (today) I said well maybe it's different now with new help and management. Boy was I ever wrong! We ordered simple waffle house items. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, grits and pancakes. Everything we ordered was Luke warm at best. We were almost ready to go when I asked the waitress to ask the cook how much longer on the pancakes. She come right back with some she said she stole someone else's. Everything that had butter on it did not melt. Pancakes were cold as ice. The grits just got done cooking (according to the waitress) were also cold as ice and wouldn't melt the butter. The only thing I had that was hot was the coffee and that was barely hot. This place needs a real corporate worker to come undercover and do a complete over haul. Because after years of being built they are still practicing bad habits. You would be better off going to waffle house. At least the food would be hot and not an hour later. Oh not to mention I just paid $38...
