Anthony's Pizza — Restaurant in Luray

I have ate here on 2 other occasions within the last few years. (When I'm in the area). On those rare occurances of eating there it was "good" but room for improvement. My family stopped in for a quick bite to eat a few mo ths ago. They were unfriendly upon entering. We took a seat and eventually the young man (teen) took our order. He was zoned out and mumbled under hos breath when communicating back. He made us feel rushed to order yet there were no other customers in the restaurant at the time. While waiting we noticed more about the restaurant then when we initially walked in. Yes it's dated but who cares if it's clean. But it wasn't. Our table had food smudges on it and the floors were disgusting. The soda we ordered was nasty and we were told they were out of carbon dioxide and he would return with the same drinks but corrected. They were not corrected. There was alot of arguing in the kitchen and although we didnt know what they were saying it was distracting.Then the food arrived which was hot and smelled good however the portions were wimpy. My sub barely had any thing on it. The rest of our sons order was missing. We asked for that and someone different brought it out. Customers came in and the waiter never came back to see how things were or even bring the tab. We waited and finally was able to ask for the tab. The bill was rather high but if everything some what measured up this would be understandable. But for the level of service we received it was not worth it. I would NOT recommend and will never stop here again. It's dated, dirty, over priced with rude...

We eat at Anthony's Pizza located in Luray, Virginia, on occasion. This is a good destination to get a hot sub sandwich or vegetarian pizza.

I will say that I am a sucker for a hot Italian sub, and this restaurant does not disappoint. I recommend it with lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, vinegar and oil, and raw onions. This pairs really well with their delicious basket of fries that we usually share with the table.

I also really need to recommend these special Steak and Cheese sub. This sub also includes Peppers diced into the steak and cheese and it's topped with lettuce and tomato.

My partner really enjoys the veggie pizza. This pizza comes loaded with broccoli, peppers, onions, black olives, and tomato.

Last time we were in, we tried the broccoli and potato soup as a special that was not normally on their menu. It was delicious. However, we didn't know that there was bacon in the soup. My vegetarian partner was quite surprised.

They violate every health violation possible. I know this because I used to work at Toni's (one of their companies). I have no clue how they manage to hide it from health inspectors or the fact that they are harboring illegal immigrants. They wear no gloves while preparing food. They do not disinfect dishes. Their way of cleaning it is to spray water on it and bring it back out to customers. They pick and eat the food that is stored on the floor that is under the sink.

Furthermore they are very mean to the female waitresses. I have witnessed one boss call a waitress a "needle junkie." He constantly put down that worker every chance he got.

I quit Toni's due to the bosses attempting to not pay me, the unhealthy handling of food, and the lack of respect for its female employees.
