Shelley’s Pizza is beloved by locals. After years of receiving countless recommendations to try Shelley’s Pizza in Luzerne I finally stopped by. It was evident why the place is beloved by locals. First, the pizza is awesome. It’s thin, crispy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The staff is super friendly and work fast. It’s an efficient operation that uses a number system to assign to each order so you can grab your pizza quickly using Shelley’s drive through. Consistency seems to be a hallmark of the pizzeria according to locals. I could see one component as to why during my brief visit. They open each pizza box and show the customer their pizza to ensure it meets customer expectations. It takes just a few extra seconds, but it’s a great way to reduce mistakes and allows the customer a chance to do some quality control. I was very impressed with Shelley’s and highly recommend it to you as so many did for me! #luzerne #luzernecounty #nepa #pizzalover #thincrustpizza #crispy #saucy #allamerican #nepapizza #pennsylvania #pizzagram #snowday #pizzadelivery #pizzaslice #fyp #reels #pizzaman #pizzaforever

Shelley’s Pizza, located on 273 Union Street in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, is a tiny, delivery and takeout only pizzeria that has been serving customers for 52 years. Although I have lived in the area off and on for almost 30 years, I never visited, and decided to rectify that matter on a Saturday evening. After telephonically ordering our pizza, we arrived at Shelly’s shortly after 7:30. Although we parked our car in the small parking lot and went in, there is a drive-thru where customers can conveniently pick up their meals. As we entered, we were greeted by a friendly counter attendant who gave us our pizza and took our payment. We ordered a large, 16” pizza, half with onions and large slices of pepperoni, and the other half with onions, mushrooms, and sweet peppers. The vegetables were plenty and diced. Although I don’t think the pizza was anything special, I can see the appeal from what appears to be a loyal customer base. It’s a neighborhood pizza joint offering a no-frills pie, with drinks pulled from a cooler located behind the counter. There are no gourmet-style offerings, just the nuts and bolts, which is perfect when looking for something that will satisfy the appetite. The pies also come in two additional sizes: Large (16”), medium (14”), and small (12”). If you’re in the neighborhood and looking for something quick to take home, go ahead and try Shelley’s. After all, being established for over 50 years means something is being done right.

I decided to go to Shelley's Pizza in Luzerne on November 9th to try their pizza for the 1st time. Finally had their pepperoni pizza and damn it was so yummy! Been wanting to stop there for quite some time now but it seems to be closed every time I'm passing through there. It was easy to find and had lots of parking on the side and in the rear. The employees there were so welcoming and very nice to me and the other customers. I was surprised when I saw this older gentleman working there, pulling his pickup truck filled with supplies close to the front door. I said hi to him and started talking to him after hearing a customer say that he was Mr Shelley. It was the owner who is still quite involved with his restaurant greeting customers as they come in and out. Had a really nice chat with him about his pizza shop, choice of a football hat (Syracuse/Shelleys) ha ha, and the yummy Gertrude Hawk benefit candy bars they were selling. Love chocolate 😋 so had to buy six of them. Also told him pizza was a staple in my family and how we used to go to the Shelley's Pizza in Wilkes-Barre on Carey Ave. He told me thank you for your business and told me they only make pizza nothing else. The pizza I got was excellent ate at least three pieces on the way home. It brought back a lot of memories with it's big round pepperoni pieces, sweeter sauce, and yummy cheese blend. I will definitely be going back there to try their other different pizzas.

Always a great experience when dealing with Shelly’s. Great pizza!! I called tonight to order at 7:52 and didn’t realize the store closed at 8. I did check online and it stated that they were open until 9. Simple mistake with online and no big deal. I explained to the kind gentleman that picked up the phone that it was ok and I didn’t realize they were closing. It was no big deal. I stated it wasn’t an issue and I’ll order another time. I explained if I had realized I wouldn’t have ordered because I don’t like to do that. The gentleman assured me numerous of times it was ok and not a problem. He was so kind and generous and wouldn’t let me hang that phone up without ordering lol. This is just another reason this is one of the best pizza shops in the valley! Great pizza and exceptional customer service!...
