Be sure to pick up your pizza, don't have it delivered! I am a huge fan of Jet's, coming from the Detroit area where it started. That is why when I was planning lunch for a work meeting, I chose to go with them. I have picked up pizza from this location before, and it has always been great.
Today though, as it was for a work meeting at 12:00pm, I placed the order online the day before to have it delivered at 11:35am. I had given instructions of the address of the building, correct door to come in and who to ask for with my cell number. At 11:45am, I called to make sure that the pizzas and other stuff were done and on the way as I was waiting in the lobby. I was told yes, the driver would be there soon. At 12:05pm (after my meeting has now started), I called again to see if they knew what the hold up was since it was now 30 mins late. I was told the driver would be there very soon. I asked to have him call me if he was lost. At 12:20pm, I finally get a call from the driver not knowing where he is. Come to find out, he is at a wrong location and can't find me. I then spent the next 10 minutes directing him all over Highland Heights to where the business is located. So finally by 12:35pm, I now have my full order but no meeting anymore to take it to. The pizzas were barely warm anymore after being in the car for over an hour.
Beware if you order delivery. I love Jet's pizza, but will always now go and pick up my orders in person. Over an hour past the scheduled delivery is just...
Read moreThis is a strange review and you'll see why in a second. I've been coming to this location for probably five or six years now, and with possibly ONE occasion, the food was excellent and the time it wasn't it was because the pizza was obviously sitting or a while, or maybe it was a reheated one, but normally it's great. I ordered my usual tonight and it went strangely because they always ask for my number, and automatically it comes up what my order history is, and it's always the same. Anyhow, this kid answers and wasn't exactly professional (NOT saying he was rude or nasty or anything, just NOT professional) and never asked for my number, and when I asked him why he said he'd just put the order in, but then let me know that he did have my information. Anyhow, long story, my order suddenly is seven dollars plus more expensive. I asked him if they raised the prices and he had to go ask someone and he came back and gave me the same price. Anyhow, I have no problem paying for good food and all, but a seven dollar jump in two pizzas in about a month's time? I realize we are living under Bidenomics BS and all, but I'm not spending almost $47 dollars for two "extra large" pizzas. I'll just go down the street to Aldi and get two take and bake ones which is exactly what I did. Jet's does have good pizza, but not to that point. They saved me a few...
Read moreJet's Pizza is easily one of the best takeout pizza joints in the area; everything I've ordered from them has been delicious. Of particular note are the turbo stix, which are little morsels of win: lightly crispy on the edges and coated with enough cheese to blanket a small town, these breadsticks on steroids could be made into a meal all by themselves. The corner pizza, Jet's claim to fame, is similarly succulent: simultaneously tender, chewy, and crispy, this Sicilian-inspired dough features a unique texture that almost tastes as if the pizza has been deep-fried (trust me, it tastes better than that sounds). My favorite menu item however is the Bold Fold, which is the closest approximation of NY style pizza I've yet found in Cleveland - not only is the crust just right and the cheese level on point, the pizza sauce is nice and tart (none of that foolish Midwestern sweet tomato sauce here!). Like all good NY pizza, the Bold Fold even makes a suitable breakfast the morning after. The downside, because there's always a downside, is that the food at Jet's is so greasy a dermatologist should write it a prescription for Clearasil. That, and the ever so slightly higher than average price tag, might be enough to deter some potential customers, but not me - I'll...
