You know a place is going to be small when words like "Cozy" are used, and this place is no exception. I came here for the first time yesterday morning with a friend, just before they got slammed, around 9:30 a.m. They had maybe 4 or 5 booths in the place and we got the last one available, so it was already busy. There were still seats open at the counter but they would be filled, too, by the time we left. I ordered French toast with bacon and a side of scrambled eggs, with a cup of coffee and a glass of water. My friend ordered eggs over medium with bacon and toast and had to grab an OJ out of the fridge for himself. The coffee came in a very small cup that only required 1 teaspoon of sugar. I'm not sure it was cream she gave me with it, but the server, who was likely the wife/co-owner of the business, was already running around like a chicken with her head cut off so I didn't bother to ask if it was cream and never got my glass of water. When the food arrived, my friend's dish came with potatoes which he specifically asked not to have but was missing the toast - she got it backwards, but my friend was too polite to correct her or make her take it back. My french toast was soggy but edible, especially with the cheap bottled syrup. During the time we were waiting for our food, both sons (one possibly a teen but the other definitely still in middle school) started helping out with making coffee, which took forever to get a second cup. The only reason I'm giving the food 4 stars is that the bacon was meaty and crispy and plentiful, so I can't be mad at that. The eggs were seasoned well. This is definitely a no frills mom-and-pop diner with a simple menu and budget-friendly prices. The whole meal for both of us came to ~$25. That coupled with the fact that my friend enjoyed his meal despite it being inaccurate, is worth the 4 stars, but the service and atmosphere leave a lot to be desired. That doesn't seem to stop the regulars from eating there, but they are likely within walking distance, as parking (other than the street) is non-existent. Great venue for budget-friendly to-go orders, which seems to be a huge part of their business. Not sure I will be...
Read moreI been ordering from here when it was Terry's was the owner, for about 6 years ordering from him. He had his temper sometimes but food was great. Its ashamed that this is another business im going to stop ordering from, under new owners. I feel like there's no more customer service, and the customer is always wrong. I am just going to stop ordering out and cooking at home. Save me to get frustrated and money. First off, if you have a business understand the English language. I ordering Taylor Ham sandwich with home fries and a Bacon Cheeseburger with fried onion and onion rings. I received the home fries in the Taylor Ham sandwich, and the burger, no onion ring, no fried onions, no bacon. The first time around even though it was for being a mess up order it tasted good. I spoke to the owner about it and he said would replace the whole thing. I tried to order one day and he was busy to replace my order. Two months later ( which l order today) l tried again and the owner didn't know what l was talking about. Had to have my wife to speak to him to remember. He was replacing the whole food, except the onion rings. According to him, "the grill wasn't open until 11am." He food less than 10 mins. I had a feeling that the food wasn't going to be made right l, just by his demeanor on the phone and how quickly he made it. And l was right! Horrible!!! The home fries wasn't even cooked and burgers old lettuce and not even the same quality of meat l had before....
Read moreI haven't been here in years but I looked up the name because my Godfather owned this place. He started it in the 70s and when my mother & sister and I came back from California Mom waited on the tables in the morning. I remember the regulars used to get their own coffee mug with their name on it, hung on the wall and they would drink out of it every morning they came in. I was really young and the one Christmas Terry sold these tanks that shot wooden balls out of the cannon. I remember it so much because, my sister hated being shot with it. LoL 😆 God Bless everyone who keeps this place running. It was fun for my memories and I hope for many...
