Cafe Colombia — Restaurant in Lynn

I want to give this place five stars, but four is very high in my book, have only been once on a 7am Google search for breakfast after driving the north Boston route out of Logan. This place has some very memorable and unique pastry offerings, specifically a totally fluffy/soft yet somewhat chewy bagel-brioche. Perfectly pallidly unsweet yet rich. Flour from heaven, like they serve at the asian pastry shops with adjuncts of taro root starch and tapioca and such. I am ignorant of the real name in spanish, was able to cobble an order together without getting frowned upon. It was a pleasure to be welcomed in a cozy spot with a furiously busy and clean kitchen adjoining the glass-entombed, totally fresh offerings of unique love in plum baskets aside...

My main complaint is on the customer service, the waiter or server (whatever the job description is) needs to find other job. For people who expect tips they sure don’t know how that works. I won’t be tipping people who 1- talk badly about me in Spanish ( yes I speak Spanish so next time make sure the person doesn’t speak the same language) and 2- Give a lot of attitude. I understand it’s hard, working in customer service and maybe I caught her on a bad day. But this is something that happens every time I go. So it’s definitely an issue the older lady with black hair has to fix. The food is good for the price but just order take out or to the go. If you want to have the authentic feel that you in Colombia, go to Cafe Colombia. They will never disappoint you! The food is absolutely delicious with many selections. The entire staff is very friendly. I love the little touches they add: Your silverware and napkins are in a clean basket instead of directly on the table, Straws already in my soft drink while leaving the very tip covered, & little Colombian candy after you have eaten.
