Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks right? Unfortunately the answer to this is no. Not all Starbucks are created equal and this location does a good job at holding the bar where I'm sure Howard Schultz & Brian Niccol would want it. First the ambiance. I always wondered how they'd make this building work as it once was a bank. I'm happy to report that their store designer did a great job with the layout. There's plenty of seating room with or without a table and they even have window bar seating (non alcoholic type). The music is of course their usual SB cafe flavor and remains as background music. According to my hubby, the bathrooms are clean and per usual need a code to access. There is plenty of parking and although they are located at the end of a shopping center parking lot, access into and from the lot is not bad as long as you go to where the traffic lights are. We ordered our "coffee," two marshmallow dream bars and two cranberry bliss bars. Everything was as it should be taste wise. They were out of certain things and made sure to let us know and gave us options. The crew was very nice and accommodating. Overall, this is definitely one of the Starbucks we frequent as it is a good location especially when in the Alderwood area and you just need a pick me up before heading...
Read moreSeems like it's a recently refurbished location, which is very spacious and the food is well stocked. There's a drive-thru along with the usual counter / mobile service.
There was a constant stream of customers both inside and via drive-thru during the hour we sat and enjoyed our drinks. The staff were efficient and friendly. It felt very low key / casual, which not all Starbucks can claim.
The outdoor seating wasn't out yet (which makes sense on this rare March sunny Seattle day) but I could imagine chilling out there during the summer while the kids wander around nearby Target or Alderwood Mall.
I would recommend this location over the Starbucks in the mall, though they could probably do with 1 more employee as little things like restocking water dispenser, sweeping the floor, cleaning off the tables all could have been dealt with. The 3 staff that were there never stopped working, so I don't think they could have taken the time to do these things.
Starbucks still doesn't have compostable straws or properly recyclable cups. However, this Starbucks did have a huge water dispenser that I could refill my water bottle, saving at least a little bit less plastic from the landfill, so I've given...
Read moreThe reason I'm giving this store 5 stars is SIMPLY because of the manager Hailey (I hope I'm spelling that right). I'm a type 1 diabetic and I had the worst low I've had in at least 15 years. I couldn't stand, barely communicate, etc. She jumped right in and gave me juice, a brownie and a bit of caffeine (as that does help sometimes). She let me sit as long as i needed and was constantly checking in on me. Something in the cosmos guided my car there without getting into a terrible wreck, and not even know where I was (it's like an out of body thing, where you can see yourself almost crashing your car, or have no clue what you're doing, and there's nothing you can do about it). After these episodes, your body is exhausted, so i was able to finally regulate, i thanked her profusely, and went to sit in my car. I couldn't keep my eyes open, but Hailey still had eyes on me. She came out, saw the closed eyes, and knocked on the window to make sure I was ok. She was there for me for a reason today. She kinda saved my life. Thank you so much, Hailey! You went above and beyond and I'll...
