I have no idea how I will get any sleep tonight. This hotel room is awful. I don't know if other parts of the hotel are better. I asked the incredibly unfriendly front desk staff if I could move to a quieter room and they didn't even apologize for the situation. They just said, no. We are fully booked.
My room is on the directly next to the laundry room, so the vibrations and sounds from the constant laundry (open 24 hours) is making the walls shake at times. The compressor for the AC system for this part of the building is right out side my window and it's constant thrum is making me nauseous. Additionally, the elevator is immediately across the hall. So its a steady stream of voices and talking and bickering as people wait for the elevator or arrive on the first floor.
Then there is also a patio right outside my window where other people are gathering to carouse and laugh and talk. It's lovely that they are having fun, but it doesn't help the cacophony of noise bombarding this room at 9:46 pm.
I always bring a sound machine with me when I travel. But my sound machine is no match for the rumbling, door slamming nightmare of this room.
I am writing this review now in the hopes that management will see it and do something to help. Since the front desk clearly doesn't care. I asked very politely if i could possibly be moved to a more quiet location, as soon as I arrived and saw the room at 4pm.
If I had the option to get a refund and leave, I would try to find someplace else to go. But I booked through a third party so I am stuck.
UPDATE: The lovely night manager saved a different room for me so I was able to move rooms to a much less central location. I was quite hopeful that the noise problems would be solved. Unfortunately another guest chose to leave their barking dogs alone in the room next to me. They didn't answer their door or their phones when the front desk tried to reach them at 12:45 am. The poor night desk person was trying very hard to fix several other problems caused by inconsiderate guests at the same time.
Props to her for her valiant efforts to make this a pleasant stay. I know the behavior of other guests is out...
Read moreWorst experience ever. The first room we were given hadn't been cleaned since the previous guest had checked out. Gross. I'm talking disheveled bed, dirty towels all over the floor, garbage in the garbage cans, a banana peel laying on the floor, and an unflushed, urine filled toilet. No lie, I was disgusted, but the front desk employee seemed to have cared less and never once even apologized for the inconvenience that we had just experienced. So yeah, that was the first room. The second try was equally disturbing. We take our new keys to check out this new and hopefully clean room and what do you know, it was actually occupied by a very shocked and caught off guard couple who were trying to pull their door closed at the same time as we were trying to pull it open. It was a terrible experience for us but as I could put myself in the position of this couple who had already been settled into their room, I believe it might have been worse for them and the invasion of privacy they had just experienced. Needless to say, same front desk employee was once again very rude and off-putting without any remorse or offer of compensation, let alone any sort of apology or even any admittance of wrong doing. The outcome was a third try at a down graded room because apparently they were sold out of the room type we had booked originally. It's shocking to me that places like this could have any returning guests because I'm just going out on a limb here and thinking that we were probably not the first and definitely won't be the last to be treated so poorly. It's as if terrible service throughout your stay is what they aim for and with that being said, well then they met their mark. As Hilton Honors members we were and still are appalled at the level in which they operate. It really is an embarrassment for this property to be under the Hilton umbrella. Never again would I even step inside this facility. So stay at your own risk and keep very low expectations if you find yourself forced to spend...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at this location over the weekend. We loved that it offered 1 bedroom and able to accommodate each member of our family. The hotel was clean and updated nicely with laminant floors through out. I had limited interaction with the staff as I check in and out via my app. I entered once through the front door and they spoke.
Lots of eating places around and the mall was just up the street. Easy access to the freeway.
There's a lot of construction going on and the area is very busy or at least the streets I came down on.
There were a few things I did not like. I chose the 1 bedroom suite as I was hoping for minimal noise, but that was not the case. I could hear either the neighbor next door or below us sliding the chair across the laminant floor causing a screeching noise. This occurred after 10 PM on both nights. Perhaps they were cleaning or had children. I specifically choose the top floor to minimize noise, but I could still hear a lot. I have stayed at the Homewood Suites and it's fairly quiet and I do not hear neighbors, especially when I am trying to sleep.
The bedroom windows seemed to have a seal broken or thin windows as I hear all of the street noise and a whistling noise from the wind. It's fairly busy and I could hear cars with loud mufflers and engines. Choose a room on the backside.
I was disappointed the curtains did not open all the way. It was a sunny day out and I love natural light. When I looked up, the curtains had a string on it and I did not want to mess with anything.
The updated bathroom shower and toilet area did not have a lock on the door. The toilet was loud.
My last complaint was with the bedroom AC/heater. I had the fan continuously running, but it still clicked on loudly. At one point, I turned the entire unit off as I could not sleep.
Overall, not a bad hotel, but I have specific preferences (noise level is most important) that I hope the hotel lives up to and this...
