TL:DR - if you don't care about AC, being able to get into your hotel room or considerate staff, this is a great hotel for you. If any of those things matter, I'd advise you consider another property.|||Before you begin reading this review, let me first say that it was incredibly sad for me to have to write. I've been a longtime Marriott enthusiast for years and have stayed at number of their properties across all of the tiers. It was actually that experience that compelled me to write this review. I expect better of Marriott because I've seen them do better. This experience, discussed below, does not meet their standard. While this experience is an outlier for this brand, it's worth calling out so that others can make informed decisions. In my almost 2+ years of stays at Marriott property, this was the first time I felt compelled to write a review. ||Horrific hotel, no emphasis from the staff on either customer service or even basic care. Our room had no toilet paper, functioning AC and the lock was broken, just to name a few issues and it was only the first night. ||I was also extremely disappointed in the staff and their inability and frankly what seemed to me to be "disintrest" in addressing the issues.|| - The never offered to send over additional toilet paper (strange, I know?)||- When I told them the AC didn't work after arriving back to our hotel after 10 PM at night, they advised me to wait "awhile" in case it had "frozen over". After waiting half an hour, we spoke again and they told me it would take a minimum of another 30 minutes for their maintenance manager to come out and take a look. When I inquired about another room, the hotel AGM (Angie) asked if I would be better if I could be somewhere else since the property "didn't mean my expectations". You set these expectations when advertising your property. You set the expectations by making it clear you offered AC, rooms we could actually enter and bathrooms in your hotel rooms. If expecting to be provided with AC, a room I can physically enter and toilet paper is "too high of a bar" to reach...maybe you should consider raising your bar.|||The sad thing is is that all it would have taken was a little bit of understanding and empathy from the staff and a promise to address the issue in a convenient manner in order to avoid this review. Apparently, this was too...

Read moreWhere to start...I stayed at the Residence Inn for a total of three days, and ended up checking out a day earlier than I had intended because it was such an abysmal stay. The desk staff is rude and hurries you through like you're cattle in a corral, even when there's no one behind you. When you're trying to understand the veritable maze that is the property, and where your particular room is, they rush you through a map impatiently. My toilet backed up for absolutely no reason on the second night there, so I called the front desk to have maintenance come and fix it; the guy was extremely rude and deprecating when it was working just fine for him, acting as though I purposely called and lied about the issue.
This brings me to the size of the bathroom--it's microscopic. Your knees bump into the shower when you're on the toilet, and you're tripping over the toilet after you're done bathing. The blankets on the bed are paper-thin and don't offer any sort of warmth--better bring your thickest sweater and sweatpants for sleeping, because not even cranking up the thermostat will help. Also, my room's peep hole had been plugged up with toilet paper--that's right, someone had purposely put some kind of tissue in the hole instead of actually fixing the issue. So I couldn't even look through the door to see who was knocking, before opening it. And expect to be woken up early in the morning by your upstairs neighbors (if you're on the bottom floor), because you can hear every stomp, every footfall...every minuscule movement. And it's not muffled, either.
As far as their amenities go, the continental breakfast straight-up sucks for the price per night that they expect people to pay. It's sparse, the dining room isn't very clean, the tables always had a ton of crumbs and stuff on them, and the selection was quite underwhelming. Oh boy, gross cold boiled eggs that taste like they sat in a storage cooler for 6 months before they were served...my favorite. I've had better continental breakfasts at hotels that cost 1/3 of the price of this place.
And the best part--I told the desk staff about all this upon my checking-out, and all I got were a bunch of half-hearted "I'm sorries"...no offers to make it better in any way. I'm extremely upset and disappointed by my stay at this Residence Inn. I won't be returning to any Marriotts...
