Spent a lot of time researching all the hotels in this area and I am glad I picked this one.
We had room 327 (normal sized one bedroom suite with 2 queen beds).
Pros: Price!!!! This was half the price of every hotel in the area for some reason. Even for a one bedroom very large hotel room!! Front desk staff were always friendly and helpful Very clean and newly renovated Both air conditioning and heat worked VERY well Very safe location Never heard a single sound from outside/upstairs while in the room Nice fully stocked kitchen with utensils, pots, cutting board. Coffee/tea/hot cocoa packets available 24 hours a day- for coffee only milk options are half and half or the flavored pump flavor (I think it was hazelnut). During breakfast hours there is also 2% milk available. A lot of nice local places to walk to (there is a side walk right outside the hotel and if you walk down a bit, there is a traffic light to get to the other side of the road)- there's a target right next door with a grocery inside and Starbucks, dave and busters, Cheesecake Factory, and many other nice restaurants in the mall nearby. Beds were very comfy (but pillows were the very soft squishy almost not there type of pillows). TVs worked well and you can log in to Netflix and other steaming sites. Parking was sufficient and well lit with spots always available by the sides and back of building. Very easy to find despite multiple reviews saying otherwise (it was exactly where google maps said it was). Pool was good (not very warm but the same temp as most pools), it was also almost always fully empty so that's great. 24 hour laundry with 4 washers and 4 dryers ($3 per wash and $3 per dry- front desk had change available). Fitness room large and also almost fully empty. There was a lounge room with some games and a large TV Cute fire pit and grills outside (pic attached) Blackout curtains with almost 100% sun blockage) Nice little store by the front desk with fairly priced items and some liquor options. Breakfast was sufficient (video attached- only thing not in video is white rice, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage or pork links, and 3 cereal options+granola) but very repetitive (breakfast starts at 6am mon-fri and starts at 7am on sat/sun). No milk alternatives unfortunately.
Cons: The person who designed the bathroom situation must have never lived with other humans before??? The sink area was directly attached to the bedroom with no door between. The light for this area was extremely bright with no dimming setting, therefore if anyone is sleeping in the large bedroom with 2 queen beds- you cannot use the sink area without lighting up the entire room. So no teeth brushing/contact removal/hand washing after kids go to bed or spouse goes to bed. (my hack that I figured out is to set all this up in the kitchen, so you can brush your teeth or take out your contacts in the kitchen). The toilet and shower was in a seperate room with a door. Location: this is about 25 min from Seattle but with traffic (which is almost always) it turns into 40/50 min. On the other hand- very good location to get to Multikeo and Edmonds ferries. Housekeeping only comes every other day and some days we were skipped but otherwise they do a very good job. Parking fee of $15 plus tax (total: $16.58) per night which is a lot when you are this far out of town (these were similar to the fees for the hotels in Seattle proper).
There is also a wed night service with free snacks and wine I believe but we missed it so I can't...
Read moreThis somehow got deleted so here it is again: I stayed at Homewood Suites Lynnwood last Saturday night(4/17/18), it was the 5th time I've stayed there because it's a great hotel. Well, until Saturday night. The employees and customer service has always been great. We checked in around 8pm and since I'm a Hilton Honors Member I requested an upgrade to a 2-bed suite when I booked. Upon check in I was told that the upgrade wasn't available because they were booked so we were in a king suite I originally booked which was fine. My daughter and I went to sleep at around 10pm because we had to get up at 6am for her volleyball tournament. Around 10:15 we started hearing the noises from the room above us. At first it was stomping, sliding, moving furniture around. I adjusted the thermostat to constant fan then we both put headphones in but they were still too loud. Then the rap music and dancing started. OMG, I couldn't believe how loud it was. I called the front desk and complained and she said she would take care of it. After 10 minutes there was no change so my daughter and I went upstairs to verify that it was the room above us and sure enough it was 312, as soon as we got off the elevator we could hear the party down the hall. Music blasting and loud singing and yelling. AND there were 2 little kids running up and down the hallways lol. I have no idea if they were from the same room. I honestly can't understand how people can be so thoughtless and selfish and not have a care about others around them or how parents can allow their children to run the halls at a hotel. We got back to our room and I called again and the lady said she would take care of it. I told her I was about to call the police and she said that is certainly an option but she would try her best to take care of the problem. 15 minutes went by and it seemed as though the music was louder. People were now starting to come out of their rooms on our floor trying to determine where the noise was coming from. I called a third time and told the lady it was louder and she needed to get us into another room now. She obliged and said she would move us to another room as soon as possible on the 3rd floor. I verified that it was far away from 312 and it was. She said another employee would be up in about 5 minutes with our new keys so we packed up all our stuff and waited for about 15 minutes and no one came up. we drug our suitcases out near the elevator and eventually we met the employee and settled into our new room after midnight which was very quiet. The room we moved into was of course a 2-bed suite which is the exact room I had requested as an upgrade and the front desk told me there were none available because they were booked. Hmmmm so I see how it is, if I would have gotten the requested room to start with then my daughter and I would have got 8 hours of sleep instead of 5 and I wouldn't be writing this complaint. So upgrades really don't exist with Hilton or was I just not an important enough Hilton Honors member? I'm confused, and would really like an explanation for this. Also when I pay $146.00 a night, I think I should be entitled to 8 hours of sleep in a quiet room. Hilton needs to revamp their policies regarding partying guests and I shouldn't have to call 3 times to have the problem taken care of. You should be the one calling the police if you can't control your guests. I mean, really? Is this too much to ask for in a hotel??? Probably won't stay there again which is too bad because it was our favorite place to stay...
Read moreWe live here locally and I booked a hotel room here because they have larger one bedroom suites available, two queens and a sofa bed with a kitchen space that sleeps six for my tiny human’s eighth birthday party.
The overall layout of the room is great. Think of an open concept circle from bedroom to living room that loops around the bathroom sink/hall. The bedroom area is spacious, the beds aren’t crammed together and they’re plenty of space to spread out. Living room is a bit small but does the job, no complaints. Overall, a great size for the price.
Plus breakfast is included and with a handful of kids that eat a whole lot of nothing, the selection was just perfect for their happy mouths. It’s the typical Hilton brand breakfast spread, some hot items, eggs, ham, biscuits & gravy, waffle bar (which came equipped with flavored syrups & chocolate chips, etc) and then your typical continental breakfast spreads.
Crystal and Luisa were so accommodating and sweet. They had had a birthday note printed up for my tiny human and placed some cupcakes in the fridge for his birthday— which made him feel so special when we checked in and got to the room. Luisa was a gem at night when a few of the kids forgot their toothbrush and happily got them some, in addition to toothpaste. She also was incredibly kind in helping us get a few plates and a fork when our food was delivered without it. They also had board games at the front desk that you can check out during your stay, which I haven’t seen before at any of our Hilton stays but maybe it’s because I never asked and they weren’t visible. But it’s a considerate touch nonetheless.
Sean/Shaun? From housekeeping was also wonderful. He was restocking pool towels and I had asked him for extra pillows and blankets to the room— and he made sure we got what we needed for the night to make sure all the tiny humans were comfortable.
The only cons I would say that there are certain aspects of the hotel room that are a bit outdated, you can tell the doors are a little worn down and paint is missing in certain areas. And it could definitely benefit from a deep clean. Cobwebs above in the annoying ceiling lights in the breakfast space was a great addition for Spooktober but other than this month, I’d personally would want them gone.
My biggest qualm with all Hilton brand stays though are the lack of smart tv’s— because being able to login to your own Netflix or streaming platforms is just a simple solution to the terrible selection of channels that don’t work half the time because the signal is too low and there’s no connectivity. That is one thing I’d say Marriott brands have done right. Half the channels couldn’t connect last night and it was slim pickings for what the tiny humans could watch before bed. Epic movie nights in your hotel room are a big part of what makes them fun!
Overall, I’d definitely stay here again just for the location if we were doing another staycation or impromptu birthday fiesta. I mean, what kid doesn’t love a good indoor pool with a handful of your friends? Cheaper than any arcade or amusement park and they’re all contained in one room for our sanity as parents. With target right next door and the endless options for food nearby, getting dinner delivered was quick and painless. 10/10 would recommend if you’re considering...
