Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon, not too many people in the dining room, but lotsa people picking up orders to go. I had the taco dinner (1 taco asada, 1 pastor, 1 barbacoa) and this platter comes with beans & rice. My husband ordered the Brother's burger (comes prepared with a fried egg & bacon) and fries. We also ordered an pastelillo de carne (picadillo), an horchata and chips/salsa. The Brother's burger came without bacon and when my husband asked about it, he was told that they were out of bacon. They asked if we'd like a dessert or an additional menu item to replace that, so we went with the flan. The chips were good and the salsas were flavorful but weren't hot at all. My tacos were alright but not anything special. The rice tasted like it had been boiled (as opposed to fried) and tasted like boxed rice. The beans were the best thing about the dish. The horchata was really good, it wasn't too sweet and the flan was good too (not too sweet either). All in all, it wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either. However, it wouldn't be my first choice when...
Read moreThe food we ordered was pretty well done and it didn't take too long to get it, but we specifically ordered "no cheese" on a taco dinner, only to receive a taco dinner with more cheese than all the rest of our orders, possibly combined. It was like a typhoon of cheese. If you colored the cheese red, it would look like a murder scene. I'm 90% sure that there was not a single piece of meat, lettuce, or tomato on any of the 3 tacos that did not have a stringy piece of melted cheese affixed to it like glue. It's like a bowel death trap for the lactose intolerant, including the individual upon whom had ordered the tacos in the first place, hence the request specifically for no cheese. The complaining I will be hearing from said person for the rest of the night due to his meal being cheesed beyond belief very well warrants the current status of a 2...
Read moreStopped in for dinner, we like to support locally owned, and we’ve been here in the past but it been over a year. It took quite a while for one of the servers to bring us a couple of menus. And then quite some time for her to deliver chips, drinks and take our food order. We had to ask for salsa (odd ?) which also took what we thought was an inordinate amount of time, by then we were on the second tiny basket of chips . Husband ordered the Carne Asada & I got the chicken fajitas. The fajitas were cooked in some kind of tomatillo sauce and were too salty. Husband said the same about the Carne Asada, very salty + it was cooked to well done. He wasn’t asked what temperature the meat should be cooked to. The guacamole was the best thing on the table tonight. The servers are friendly but really...
