Located in the heart of the town, La Grange Breakfast Cafe is a charming culinary gem that transports its patrons to a bygone era with its vintage decor and delightful ambiance. From the first moment, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of nostalgia and warmth, reminiscent of a simpler time. The decor of La Grange Breakfast Cafe is a harmonious blend of rustic charm and quaint elegance, offering glimpses into the past and adding to the restaurant's nostalgic appeal. The front window, where we chose to sit, provides a picturesque view of the bustling street outside, allowing you to soak in the sights and sounds of the neighborhood while enjoying your meal. The Special Bagel Sandwich. My choice of sunny-side up eggs, Swiss cheese, spinach, all topped with Parmesan cheese, is a masterpiece of flavors and textures. As I take my first bite, I'm greeted with the crispiness of the bagel, giving way to the gooey goodness of the sunny-side up eggs and the creamy richness of the Swiss cheese. The spinach adds a refreshing burst of greenery, while the Parmesan cheese on top elevates the dish to new heights with its nutty and savory notes. The cheese on top isn't just mere decoration; it's a crucial element that enhances the overall flavor profile of the sandwich. The interplay of different cheeses creates a symphony of flavors, each complementing the other harmoniously. With every bite, you're treated to a burst of savory goodness that dances on your palate, leaving you craving for more. That was what set this breakfast bagel apart from the rest. La Grange Breakfast Cafe is more than just a restaurant; it's a sanctuary where time stands still, and every meal is a celebration of flavors, memories, and the simple joys of life. If you're craving a taste of the past served with a side of culinary excellence, look no further than La Grange...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood here is great, some of the best skillets ive had. That being said, the couple times ive been here ive had issues. The first time the prices charged did not reflect what was on the menu, i figured thats fine, prices have gone up. Second time was for fatherās day and it was very busy. Spoke to the host who said we could wait outside for a table. I asked him if i needed to put in my name to avoid confusion since it was so busy and he said no. Two rather demanding guests came in shortly after, and as 2 tables cleared up outside one guest sat down at the table and the other guest had a dog so likely had to be seated outside. I was standing right next to them as they were seated and the host looked at me afterwards and remembered that i was there, i couldnt tell if he forgot or just felt pressured to seat them. I told him i really wouldāve preferred an outdoor seat and instead of telling the last group that arrived that there were actually guests waiting ahead of them, he asked them if they wanted to get up which of course they responded to by saying no. I ended up leaving with my husband. I might try it again if a host seating list was implemented but as i can tell right now,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has a cool vibe and weāve been excited to experience it sans kids. We got there and decided to sit at the counter top. Finally a classic diner that was bustling and full of energy. Food was decent, fresh, a little undercooked (hash browns). But having worked in the restaurant industry for most my life what really threw me off was the fact that one of the chefs kept wiping his knife with the trash can. Cutting fresh fruit then wiping the side of knife blade with the top of the open trash can or his dirty rag/apron (clearly stained and just plain filthy). The same can he was discarding eggs, waste, etc in. I get it youāre busy but thatās not sanitary. I want to see small business thrive but this is just unacceptable. Iām not trying to drag anyone or business and not be overly dramatic, but this kind of shocked me for an open kitchen. Where at the right angle you can see pretty much everything going on. Service was great overall, atmosphere was fun and nostalgic. But overall probably wonāt go back unless they address some pretty basic food...
