Grapevine Mediterranean Gourmet Cafe — Restaurant in Lyons Township

It was a beautiful day, the weather was great! It was a Friday night. Me and my friend went there early, We ordered food. My friend got the baked chicken and potatoes I ordered a sandwich. My friend got her baked chicken after waiting probably 40 minutes for it. I waited over an hour for my sandwich. People that were waiting in line after me got their food. I was still waiting...... Not sure what happened to my sandwich. The poor wait staff tried to help me by asking where my sandwich was. Nobody knew where it was. We spent enough money to not have to wait over an hour for a sandwich!!! And then when they finally made it they acted like it was normal to wait that long! They were more concerned about the people coming in that had ordered food for takeout. Didn't compensate anything for making me wait over an hour either. So I think their customer service was horrible! Normally when you Make someone wait that long You would compensate them with maybe a free dessert or something. But nope.... Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. I don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon. I think you just lost my business by putting a bad taste in my mouth by making me wait over an hour just for a simple sandwich. I used to love going there, but not anymore. How very sad. If you're going to take care of your customers you have to take care of...

I first sat down here to eat, the waitress never paid attention to me, she always was readjusting her ponytail or playing on her phone when we needed her, she wouldn't wash her hands after playing with her ponytail after I politely asked. I refused to tip her so I tipped the nice cashier at the front, only to find out that the cashiers are forced to give up their tips to the waitresses (unethical) and are also forced to split it amongst eachother (trashy). I did not want to tip the waitress! I did not want to tip the tall, rude cashier, he never did a thing to help me besides try to nitpick about how the cashier should be working the register. It was annoying, rude, and degrading to their employee who was just there taking my order just fine. They took the tip out of the tip jar and gave it to the waitresses after I left. If I would have known better I would have told the manager to directly give it to the cashier. I called and asked, only to get a bland response about how they can't afford to pay their waitresses a living wage. Went in, you have to place your order at the counter and your food is brought to you. I ordered the Trio Plate, it has Dolmades, Pastichio, Spanakopita and rice. I also ordered the chicken with rice and lemon soup. The soup, it had very little rice or chicken and was overly lemony and salty. My main plate arrived quickly and you could tell was warmed up in the microwave. The outer layer had a darkened crust to it that you get when you microwave a plate full of food. The food was kind of crunchy and really hot on the outside and cook on the inside. Everything was overtly salted. I had also ordered a rice pudding to go. I ate that later at home and it was weird in texture but tasted ok. The only other time I had eaten here was a to go order near closing.
