Portillo's & Barnelli's Summit — Restaurant in Lyons Township

Food was great 5 stars. But customer service inside the restaurant was a complete FAIL, 0 STARS at the Portillos counter.. I was not greeted, cashier was JACKY, instead I got a "Give me a minute" as she walks away briefly..... No Hello, no please wait a moment. No, be right with you. Tacky but moving on..she returns and says OK whats your order. Not frequented this location in quite some time, the first question I asked at register was, do the salads stop at 10p.m.? She says huh, "No only Barnellis (points to Barnellis counter) closes at 10p.m...." I start my order, first item had to repeat my toppings three times.. Next item I attempt to verbalize, interrupted this time by her Manager walking behind her, and Manager notices that she was ringing up on the register under a different employee's name!!.... Manager stops I'm her tracks and convo ensues between said Cashier and the manager. Manager shows her again how to swipe and fix but she's paying no attention. Her response and overall interaction, right in front of me, with her Manager was disgusting and rude. It was just an overall tense and rude environment in retrospect as she repeatedly says, "okay well you never told me that, no one told me that blah blah" Okay, trying again, I spoke the second item on my order and I ask for a side salad.... and then, WAIT NO ✋ JACKY proceeds, "No salads right now." My reply: Umm, I specifically asked you if I can order a salad because it was 10:09 p.m. and you said Yes.... her reply "Well I'm new okay so you can have some patience." Nah sweetie, keep it moving with that training on someone else. Your ears are not new to listening, eh?! I called out for the Manager to finish my order, don't nobody have time for your childish comments and miserable attitude. Part of training is learning, JACKY displayed ignorance and clearly has no interest to learn. Girl needs some respect for customers or move her to the line, so she has no interactions with customers and you loose more locals. As promised, here's her review: practice patience with your boss when she speaks to you; pay attention to when the customer approaches and greet them with a welcoming message; please and thank you go a long way, so if no one taught you yet, here's a reminder: everyone is new at some point but that does not excuse your immature and childish attitude. We usually love portillos. But this Sunday it sucked! Ordered drive thru at 8pm. By 8:15 got the food. Mind you the guy in the window just handed us our food. (Usually they repeat your order) as we are exiting I take a quick look and notice only 3 bags so I do a quick check and notice we are missing a chocolate cake slice. So I park on the side street and run to the parking lot and find an employee who then goes and grabs a slice. We then drive home and as we are handing out the food notice two things. One we are missing tenders for our daughter and two the crispy chicken sandwich we ordered was placed as broiled chicken sandwich. By then we are annoyed so I called portillos explained the situation and ask if I could just return all the food (untouched) and get a full refund. The lady then tells us we only had 2 options either return and get the tenders or get a refund for the tenders only. That they will not accept the food. I explained the food is untouched and honestly w the driving back and forth we didn't want to eat cold food. If she can atleast replace the order for a warm one and we can return this and she said no. So once again I had to load 2 kiddos. And a grumpy husband and go back to portillos to pick up my child's tenders. And by 9:15 we were home. So please beware and check your order before leaving. Otherwise they blame you for not checking before getting home. Ironically the only reason we did take out Sunday was because we were getting home w a newborn and were exhausted.
