If I could give this 0 stars I would, as a new customer I ordered for pick up via grub hub waited a hour got charged called to verify my large order was ready and the OWNERS DAUGHTER was extremely rude! “We don’t take grub hub... I don’t know what to tell you...you have to contact grub hub...” I was extremely understanding but I wanted to speak to a manager unfortunately her hostility over the phone was rude & unprofessional she proceeded with “ well i don’t know what to tell you we’ve contacted them several times we’re not affiliated with grub hub” it’s unfortunate that I was unable to speak to the manager but as a first time customer how am I supposed to know this if I click your site and it offers pick up via this site??? I’m sorry but as a local bridgeview business owner myself this is embarrassing... unfortunately you can’t mix family and business sometimes and this is a prime example. Completely unprofessional service. I was there with a friend of mine and he needed to use the restroom briefly. Out of nowhere, this lady was screaming at my friend to get out and he's not allowed to be there. After that, as we were walking out, Mike was shouting racial profanities at my friend. Was completely taken back by the remarks, and had to do my best to keep my friend calm so that something wouldn't happen. It's a good thing we didn't end up wasting money on ordering food here. It was beyond uncomfortable seeing other patrons stare at my friend as the commotion was going on.

I don't like to leave a review of a place I've been to only once. Needless to say, I have been to The Works Tavern a few times and it's some of the best food in Chicago, especially on the south side. Mike is a culinary expert and my last visit proved it. I legitimately had the best Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had. The steak was juicy, the bread was soft and the cheese was super cheesy (10/10).

The food is always fresh, the beer is always cold and my kids love the pizza! On our last visit, we ordered the fried zucchini, a pepperoni pizza, wings, and the Philly cheesesteak. Everything was delicious and we washed it down with $3 Pacifico beers....
