Don't sleep on the BBQ ribs!!!! Super tender falling off the bone!!
Came on a Sunday late evening around 8pm and were seated immediately.
We ordered half a slab of ribs, turkey BLT club, and the lasagna. Each entree came with a side of soup and fries/baked potato, or salad.
The ribs were extremely tender and delicious but they would have been perfect if they had charred the top of the ribs a bit to get them crispy bc they weren't but they were falling off the bone tender and slathered heavily in bbq sauce, highly recommend! Came with a bowl of coleslaw, mini soup and a baked potato (or you can select fries).
The turkey BLT club was enormous and the bacon was perfectly crisp!!! I hate soggy bacon but this diner nailed the crispy bacon for me! The turkey sliced were also thick and not thinly sliced like deli meat! Came with a mini side of coleslaw. If you are a sandwich lover definitely get this one! It was a triple Decker sandwich and so filling. I was craving a good Sammie for weeks and I gotta say this turkey club absolutely satiated that craving!!! So good.
The lasagna was huge and super cheesy and the noodles were thick and delicious. The ricotta sauce was creamy but I wish they added more meat to the sauce there were only small bits of ground beef like tiny specks spread throughout the sauce, if they add more meat it would have been absolutely perfect! But overall, the dish is very close to how I imagine lasagna to be, just needed a little bit more meat in the tomato/marinara sauce bc there was hardly any in there. The lasagna came with a side of mini soup and choice of fries or breaded zucchini or mushrooms. Chose the breaded mushrooms and they were okay and didn't come with a dipping sauce which was odd. Highly recommend the lasagna if you're a pasta lover!!!! Definitely enough for two plp to share!
For the side soups they were tiny bowls but delicious, they had cream of chicken which was good but the beef noodle was the best! Came with a side of crackers and two warm buns and butter. Wish they had a larger bowl option bc the beef noodle soup was so savory and beef was tender I would have ordered a whole bowl!!!!
I couldn't give 5 stars bc I ordered a pot of hot tea which comes with honey, lemon, and a mini pitcher of hot water and bag of Lipton tea but the waitress only bought one cup even though there were two of us which I thought was a lack of self-awareness on her part, if I were the waitress I definitely would have brought two cups.
Also, she only brought one wet wipe for us to disinfectant our hands and gave it to my bestie bc he ate the ribs and did not provide me one. Like seriously!? There are two people eating why bring only one cup for the tea and one sani wipe?!? Weird.
Lastly, when I ordered the lasagna dish she seemed surprised (I guess it seemed like too much food for two plp ?) and asked if it was to go and I said no. Like what does it matter if we order a bunch of dishes? It's our money and if we want to order a variety to sample and have leftovers to take home what's the big deal? It's not your money we're spending it's ours. So for all these reasons I could not give 5 stars.
Overall, it's great value for the food, with tip we spent around $65 for 3 large entrees large portions (which came with sides), the quality of the food is fresh and delicious, food came out promptly.
Would definitely be returning if I'm ever in the area and looking forward to trying more pasta dishes like their shrimp Alfredo bc the lasagna was fire!!! 🔥
The restaurant is huge for a diner, ample seating, and parking in the rear. Daily specials available like roasted lamb or...
Read moreI barely know where to begin but I will start by telling you DO NOT GO HERE. Starting with service. I could not hear a word that the waiter was saying. normally I would pass it off because of the mask but he was simply mumbling, after several attempts I still had very little idea as to what he was saying. He was rude and seemed exasperated when I asked him to repeat himself, as if I was inconveniencing him by attempting to understand what he was saying.
Moving onto the food. I ordered the meat ravioli, what I received could be classified as that if you were visiting a child's easy bake oven. The noodle was tough and was clearly frozen as it has the freezer burn marks on the noodle. it felt microwaved. The meat had the flavor and texture of play dough and was tasteless. This was paired with a watery marinara and rubbery parmesea that was only on one side of my dish.
The fries were good, I will give them that. I ordered a water as well (the pitcher was overfilled and spilled when I tried to refill my glass however)
These three items cost me over 20 dollars. Why you may ask? Because I was charged gratuity. I was charged a random amount of gratuity that had no choice but to pay even though I had zero input of the amount. Furthermore, each member of my party was charged a different amount, each of them seemingly random. I can't believe I have to say this, but you can't just randomly charge people whatever you want because you feel like it. I understand covid has been difficult, I really do, but it is not up to you to decide how much I should pay you in addition to the cost of the food.
overall I had a terrible experience, I will never dine here again and I advise you against doing so. The service was below average, the food was mediocre at best and the environment of the restaurant was, simply put, bad.
do not come here unless you like overpaying for below average food and being charged random amounts...
Read moreI am a regular customer who went to the old place regularly where the food and service was excellent. From the breakfast menu to the prime rib dinner, was so so good. I used to bring my family and friends there and they loved it. When Tony's moved to the new place (formerly Brookfield restaurant) they brought the same great food and service with them but in a better location. Then they closed to update the kitchen and dining. Whatever happened after the remodel, the entire atmosphere changed along with the food. They took the bar out, but kept the small video gambling closet/room in the back which was a terrible decision because there's no drinks or anything to keep the happy vibe, just a couple depressed old guys sitting at slots dumping quarters. It's mostly seniors that eat here that always argue in the parking lot over the limited close parking. I get yelled at for pulling up to drop my family close to the door before driving to the dark parking lot in the far back, Like only their safety and comfort is important. I only get breakfast from here anymore because it's the only food that has any flavor. I've tried other things and am always disappointed. Very good portion sizes but everything else has diminished that I only come here when everything else is closed. Sitting in the main dining room its hard to have a conversation because its right next to the dish tank where you hear the dishwashers constant slamming pots, pans and plates around while trying to enjoy a meal. What...
