Ok...so...I really dont want to be THAT guy but here it goes. It was a simple misunderstanding that could have been remedied very easily. My first and only time there I saw a sign on the front with some specials and one was biscuits and gravy. I went in and checked the menu and found the breakfast i wanted...2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes... if memory serves. I ordered the breakfast and, pointing towards the door where the sign was, I ordered the biscuits and gravy. I failed to see on the menu where the pancakes were one of a few choices and thought it just came with pancakes...totally my fault. I get the plate and it has biscuits and gravy on the side and when i asked about the pancakes I was told I had chosen biscuits and gravy and not pancakes. SO...the solution I offered was to bring me the 2 pancakes and charge me seperate for the biscuits and gravy at the special price. Easy right? No...i was told that couldnt be done and if I wanted pancakes id be charged per pancake. I got em but it really put me in a mood because I felt like the solution was easy enough but I was being walked through it like a halfwit. Waiting for the cakes my food got luke warm, gravy was too salty and I wasnt really enjoying myself anymore. I see plenty of reviews here praising the food and Im sure theyre right but 80% of my review was...
Read moreThis is a real deal small town cafe. Highly recommend. Come for the food! All prepared fresh and served hot, generous portions, reasonable prices. Named for the high school mascot, so lots of local pride. It’s quaint and rustic inside, with local art (for sale!) on the walls. Very limited parking. Tables share similar tablecloths, with a variety of chairs. Very clean inside. Folks there friendly and helpful. Served a great juicy burger. Huge omelette, stuffed with meat, cheese, and veg. Outstanding taco; perfect fresh made tortilla, bean/chorizo prepared correctly (perfect ratio and chorizo not burnt) and stuffed. Waffle ok, a bit thin. Potatoes with the omelette cooked well and tasted good, but could have used a bit more color. Quite a menu available, went for breakfast but going back for lunch. Edit: returned for another brekkie, and the tacos are huge and delicious. And they are closed...
Read moreSmall local place that has Mexican, burgers, tacos, breakfast foods. Ate here back in the early 2000's and it was the place to be, unfortunately now it didn't have the same good food flavor that I remember. Ordered the Mexican combination plate 2 enchiladas, rice, beans, and carne guisada w/sweet tea. Tea was not that good. The water has an unusual taste. The enchilada sauce was not my favorite at all, and the there were literally 4 pieces of meat in the carne guisada. They gave cornbread instead of chips, which on the upside tasted delicious, but wasn't even warm. I noticed it sat under a hot lamp in a plastic container with a lid. Tortillas were so so. After lunch I was nauseous for the rest of the evening. Won't be eating here any time soon or...
