Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Macomb

• UPDATE*This Jimmy John's has redeemed themselves. They did reach out to me because of this review and asked me to share my review with the local franchise owner. Once I did that, I received a $20 gift card n the mail. We ordered from them last night, and the food was back up to the standards that we have come to expect, so I have edited my rating and amended my review. They have gone above and beyond to help rectify this situation, and I feel that warrants a change in my review. Thank you ,and well done Jimmy Johns! Great food and awesome service!!

I feel that I must write this review. Normally this Jimmy John's is as advertised, Freaky Good & Freaky Fast, however last night it was just a Freaky Failure. I ordered the new Itailian sandwich, added lettuce and cucumbers, cut in half. When I received the sandwich from delivery, it had NONE of the extras I ordered, didn't seem like all of the meat that was advertised was on it, and it looked like it was thrown together by a temperamental 4 year old and the stepped on. My wife's JJBLT was the same way. I understand that places are short staffed and busy, but that is NO reason not to follow the instructions provided on the order NOR a reason not to make sure the food being made is at least presentable when it goes out to the customer. I will honestly be thinking twice before ordering from this Jimmy John's again....

New Review: Things seem to not have improved at JJ. Today I placed a pickup order on the app, and waited 30 minutes while the tracker still not say it is ready. Finally, I go to the store to see it sitting there, and it looks like it has been sitting there for a while too. I check the app, still says it is not ready. I am changing my stars from 3 to 2. It seems my before issue was not one of taking forever, but lack of training. The fact that these 2 incidents occurred months apart tells me this JJ store has no desire to correctly train employees on how to indicate when an order is ready for pickup.

Old Review 1: Recently, things have changed at JJ. One time, I ordered the big sandwich, and it barely had any meat (like they took the normal sandwiches meat, and spread it out over the bigger bread without anything more.) The other day I ordered an online pickup, and it took 40 minutes to fulfill 2 sandwiches. 40 minutes... For 2 sandwiches. I would've just gone to Walmart and bought all the ingredients if I had known it takes that long for a pickup order. I'm changing my stars from 5 to 3. If you want a sandwich, McAlister's or ISS is probably a better pick now.

I have usually had good experiences with Jimmy Johns here. I usually pick up my own order, but on a few occasions, I have them deliver. Recently, whenever they deliver, whoever fails to knock on the door or notify us when the food is being delivered. My last order must have sat outside a bit too long before realizing I should check if my food was delivered. Thinking it couldn't have been out in the heat long, I did eat the sandwich. I was wrong and got a small case of food poisoning. This isn't necessarily JJ's problem as I should have known better, but in today's economy, I can't afford to let my food waste. I hope maybe this review will help improve delivery and make sure the driver is knocking and notifying instead of just placing on the porch and leaving without notice. Never have any bad experience with picking up my own sandwiches, so...
