It's rare that I have to make a negative review of an establishment, but my experience today with Yummy Chen's was not okay. I order the same meal pretty frequently (sushi) and today, I choked on a very sharp piece of plastic that was inside of my eel avocado roll. I was able to cough out the piece of plastic, but I could have injured myself swallowing something sharp like that. Now, I contacted Yummy Chen's, and was disappointed in the lack of remorse that the staff had towards the situation. I requested a refund, and the initial response was they do not do refunds, only credit. I asked to speak with the manager, because finding a sharp objects is not okay, and I wanted them to be aware of the situation, and I would have still liked a refund. The manager was not available to speak on the phone, so I had to go back to the restaurant to speak with her. Now, when I arrived I’m surprised at the lack of reaction from the manager/owner. I was met with a simple sorry, no other words or reactions, she didn’t even look at the object in the food, she stayed quiet and calculated the refund price of just the sushi. I’ve worked in food service for seven years, and in a situation like this, I would have been repeatedly apologizing and immediately offering a full refund. I really enjoyed their food, and I’m upset by their response to the situation and I’m sad to say that I probably will not...
Read moreWhat a positive experience! I was very hesitant eating at an unfamiliar location as my stomach is incredibly sensitive, so I tried to order simple. The white rice was basic - not your preferred jasmine rice - thankfully it wasn’t overcooked. After seeing my co-workers fried rice I wish I had gotten that, it looked really light and fluffy. The Mongolian beef was perfect in spice and amount. They don’t overserve you in massive styrofoam containers, theirs are about half the size, making it rather easy to finish you meal when you sit down to eat. The lunch special offered crab Rangoon vs an egg roll, I chose the Rangoon and was overjoyed at my decision! Lol I could’ve eaten a 12 pack of rangoons but praise the lord I have self restraint. The lunch special also offered a soup, which I chose egg drop. That too was perfect. Would definitely recommend this place for those with sensitive bellies, as the “fried” items are fried so lightly, they did not bother me at all and usually they would. Thank you so much for the quality of your foods. If ever back in the area, would choose here to eat again over other options. Would love to try the sushi now that I know how clean...
Read moreI love coming to yummy chens and ordering pickup to take home. Its delicious . It is a terrible shame that one of their servers ruined my experience at the establishment when she went explained to me that covid isnt real and that there are “completely covid-free states”. She also explained that she had attended a 4,000 person event last fall and didn’t get Covid, so it must not be as big of a deal. I believe she was also wearing a mesh mask. Which protects no one from her. If this is the attitude that I am bombarded with while I’m waiting to pickup my food, I will no longer frequent this restaurant. Not to mention the kitchen was backed up (it was a busy night so I completely understand) but I had to sit there and wait for my food while listening to her go on and on about her conspiracy theories when I was clearly not engaging with her and was...
